Planning Your Social Integration Strategy

Integrating social networking websites into your business strategy is very important for modern business owners, much like it is important for them to establish a strong online presence by creating a website for their business.

Therefore, if you are a business owner and if you have already created a website for your business, or you have an online business, you should start thinking about planning your social integration strategy.

Even though this might sometimes sound too complicated, the fact is that social networking websites are not that complicated to use, and the impact their use can, and in most cases will have on your business is tremendous.

So, here will be discussed how to plan your business strategy when it comes to social networking websites.

Assessing Your Potential Customers And Clients

First of all, before you start using social networking websites for promoting your business, you should think about who your potential customers or clients will be.

What this means is that you cannot start using social platforms for your business promotion until you have figured out what kind of people you will be aiming at when it comes to marketing and promotion.

So, if you own a business that sells flower arrangements, you obviously should never address children, but rather adults who can afford to buy your products and who might actually need to buy them.

So, you should be aware of your potential clients’ age group, social status, interests, buying power and so on. This is, basically, a form of market research.

Choosing Social Networking Websites

After you have gained a clear idea as to who you are going to aim your business promotion tactics at, you should think about which social platforms you are going to use for your business promotion.

There are a lot of social networking sites to choose from, and you should probably focus on the most important ones at first. So, this means that you will have to focus on Facebook, Twitter and Google+, for example, and build your social networking strategy after you have covered these three websites.

So, How To Approach Social Platforms?

Your approach in this matter should be as honest and as ‘human’ as possible. Too many people make the mistake of creating pages for their businesses that look great, but they fail to add the much needed sense of human contact to them.

For example, if you are using Facebook, try to update your status regularly, and try to comment on other people’s posts and statuses as often as you can.

However, you should make sure that these comments show that there is a real person behind your brand name, so that your fans could connect and interact with you.

Aside from this, another great thing to do in order to promote your business through social platforms is to offer people free services or free samples of your products.

You can even choose to make a quiz and give people something in return. By doing this, you will not only gain new fans and followers, but you will also market your services or products with a lot of people.

Search Vs. Social: Where Does Your Traffic Really Come From?

Today I’ve come across an interesting article on Fred Wilson’s blog, AVC.

In this post Fred shared some interesting data about his blog traffic, analyzed where his blog visitors come from, as compared social versus search as well.

According to this data, it seem search isn’t what it used to be. The image below shows an overview of the top ten traffic sources(Google/organic, direct, feedburner, and referral traffic from social sites like Facebook, Stumbleuponand and Linkedin) to AVC blog in the past thirty days.

As you can see, Fred’s blog make more than 200,000 visits a month. Not bad, right? His blog content makes him an interesting guy to follow and currently has more than 200,000 followers on Twitter.

He found that the traffic comes mainly from the regular visitors (direct and Feedburner). Social media for 40% of overall traffic, while search engine for 10%.

According to shareaholic blog(based on aggregate data for 2012 so far for more than 200,000 publishers who reach more than 260 unique monthly visitors each month), most of their blog traffic comes from search(64% of overall traffic), then social media accounts( 11%). Direct traffic comes in third at 24%, and a combination of other traffic accounts for 1%.

In this second case search looks still king, anyway social is growing day by day and will plays a strong role in future.

Also, Google has begun integrating Google+ into search results and give you the ability to build a  loyal following of regular readers who become that direct traffic.

Only creating high quality, interesting, shareable content is the key to stay on top of your competitors.

Do You Wish To Avoid Getting Banned On Social Networking Websites?

Today, Facebook is very close to gaining a billion users, and these numbers are astonishingly high, yet not definite.

More and more people joining this social platform that is also the biggest one in the world. Facebook is constantly changing, and making innovations only to gain a bigger audience.

This is why there are millions of users who interact with their friends and family and use Facebook privately, but there are as many business owners who use Facebook in order to promote their own businesses.

How To Use Facebook For You Business Online, Smartly?

A lot of business owners have created fan pages for their businesses on Facebook, owing to the fact that this is the most efficient way of enhancing businesses in terms of making them more recognizable and enlarging the number of clients.

There are a lot of different ways in which you can reach your audience, but not everything is allowed. There are things businesses must not do, if they want to avoid getting banned from social networks.

How Can Your Business Benefit From Following The Rules?

Each of the social networking platforms has its own rules and regulations that strictly determine what you, as a business owner, are allowed to do.

Before you actually create a fan page on any of the existing social platforms, you should read these rules, in order to avoid any misunderstandings.

By realizing what the rules are and fully understanding them, not only do you get to promote your business, but you get to do this in the best possible way.

Aside from this, by following the rules you also won’t be banned from social networks, which happens quite often to business owners not following the rules.

What Are You Not Allowed To Do On Social Networks Or Any Other Website?

The list of things you should not do is a very long one, but most of the rules explained below are not allowed on any other site as well.

For example, social networking does not permit business owners to do anything illegal using their website – however, none of the websites supports anything similar to it.

Among these things, you are also not allowed to import or spread any spam or malicious content.

When it comes to what you must not do on social networks, there are a few rules you should comply with.

Firstly, your fan page should represent yourself, and therefore, impersonating others and pretending to be anything but yourself is considered to be against the rules.

You should also make a fan page for your business, rather than create a profile for it. Although some social networks haven’t mentioned anything about whether this is against the rules or not – you should avoid doing so.

Conclusion

In conclusion, every business owner should be updated on the rules of social networks, he or she is using, as these rules change often. Even if you think you know all the rules, it is always a good idea to occasionally go through them once again in case any of the rules have changed.

This way you will be sure you are doing everything right and avoid getting banned from social networking websites.

Where Does My Money Go? Simple Tips To Stop Being An Energy-Hog

My first encounter with the energy hog was when I received a electric bill, one year ago.

I really was shocked when I seen a $812 bill.

I was thinking to make a drastic thing. I was consider downgrading my cell phone.  Yes, I was thinking to get rid of my Samsung phone, and just keep my Nokia with me. Yes, fortunatly I own two cell phones.

However, being a big saver and having some money on my pocket I managed to avoid facing problem.

The chart below(energystar.gov) is a breakdown of the average American home’s energy consumption. The annual energy bill for a typical single home is approximately $2,200.

Heating and Cooling – 46%

Heating and cooling put togheter consumes half of your home’s electric bill, almost $85 per month, if we consider that the average American family spends $2200 on electricity per year.

If you want to save money on heating and cooling costs I’ll suggest to following these simple tips:

Check up your A/C – When it comes to improve the efficiency of your heating and cooling system, first and foremost you have to upgrade your old central air-conditioning. Modern central air conditioners can work at a range of speeds and consume far less electricity.

Install a programmable thermostat - There are a range of options to choose from, from ultra-cheap ones to a bit more expensive. After reading a few “How-to” articles online I found some great tips that helped me take the  next step, I summoned the courage to check out a few models of thermostats.

Water Heating – 14% (about $26 per month)

Amount of hot water is used at home, in particular for showering, washing dishes, and getting dirt and grime out of your clothes.

We all know that solar heaters harness heat energy from the sun, and use this energy to warm enough water for your home.

Also, numerous tax incentives exist to help families pay(some expire at the end of this year) solar panels and solar water heaters that drastically bring down the cost of energy to your home.

For more Energy Home Tips I’ll suggest to follow this interesting video created by Tom Kraeutler for ENERGY STAR.

Which Social Media Lead To More Traffic To Your Site?

After the last article about the best days and times to post on your blog, today I want to highlight which Social Media lead to more traffic to your Site.

Shareaholic just recently launched the Referral Traffic Report on the month of January, aimed particularly at social platforms.

These data were derived from more than 200,000 publishers, that reach more than 260 million unique monthly visitors each month.

So, they are certainly important data, which we need to take into account:

The report doesn’t show all referral sources – there are hundreds of thousands – these are just the most important ones.

But let me see what has changed in the month of January:

As you can see from this image above, Facebook continues to dominate the internet referral traffic. The site drives more referral traffic than Google, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Plus combined.

It is interesting to note that the referral traffic grew by 0.8% in January and represents only 4.3% of mobile traffic from referrals. More than 1/4 of the entire referral site traffic today comes from Mark Zuckerberg site.

StumbleUpon with a good 5.07%, has become a valuable alternative when it comes to increase referral traffic. So, as revealed Mashable, StumbleUpon isn’t the first place that lead more referral traffic in the U.S.

Referral Traffic from Google dropped in January, and also adding Youtube and Google plus you get to 5%. YouTube’s referrals grew by.07% in January, while Google + decreased compared to December of 0.22%.

Even Pinterest, the new born, has beaten Youtube in traffic referrals, while MySpace had no sign of growth in this month. Even Reddit, the bookmarking site, is classified as a good source of reference to traffic, beating other similar Websites like Delicious and Digg.

If you’re a webmaster become crucial discover new trends in traffic sources, figure out what’s working and what isn’t, and analyze and measure the effectiveness of your content efforts.
