Search Engine optimization is always going to be an important part on the marketing of your website. Many of the people who has a great site not has great traffic just because of low content quality.

After all, the only better content is quality targeted content. The point is that the reason why this advice is floating on more then one place on the internet is because that the principles of success are all universal.
