Should You Reveal Your RSS Number?
FeedBurner has a small chicklet that show the number of RSS readers on your blog. The value represents the total of users that are subscribers and that have access at blog yesterday.
Some bloggers have many users that read their blogs any day. An example is Chris Pirillo. He’s guy who’s making 130000. If you look at techcrunch.com, you’ll see that make over 50000 blog readers.
Normally, I don’t recommend a blog that show the number of RSS readers when it’s small or however when the subscribers counted readers at least 100. I think that when people see a blog with a chicklet showing six readers, their tendency is to not subscribers.
When I’ve started with this blog I’ve left out feedburner for nature of my web topic. As I’ve changed my topic I’ve opened an free feedburner account.
However according to me it’s up to the blogger to choosing. Personally I don’t show the feedBurner chicket on my site for two reasons. In part for boast in part why I haven’t still 10000 subscribers, That are my prefixed limit. However I can say that I’ve starting with feddBurner a month ago and for now the subscibers count is sitting at 500. No bad.
