Following the success of the Windows screen capture SnagIt and the screencasting software Camtasia Studio, Techsmith has launched Jing Project, easy but efficient application for people that would to communicate contents or informations of their screen via web to other people in the planet.

While Camtasia and SnagIt played an integral role on professionals users, Jing takes advantage from this software to reach more people and offer them a free solution that allows them to share contents.

We were only disappointed by the lack of option for video edit but also because Jing Project can only save to your desktop in .swf format, so if you don’t have an .swf player on your pc you cannot to upload to the major video sharing service like YouTube, or Joost. Also, one thing that lets things down with Jing for me, is that Linux are unsupported.
