So, uh… after three month of pilot testing, Google haven’t announced any speakers before the limited launch of Google Gadget Ads to the world three days ago. Google has hit the market of affiliate programs  with a new strategies through the launch of the new Gadgets Ads. The final result is a embedding of the famous text-based ads, video advertising and interactive gadget all in an unique box.

Publishers can choose the ad unit that they prefer to display, and the system will select the most profitable ad content. They are products or mini-applications that can be put on any page on the web. The Google Gadget Ads works with Google’s Adwords.adsense gadget ads

They are more likely to attract your users and to promote your content than traditional banner, because they are includes in an unique box: real-time data feeds, interactivity, applications, animation, video and all that useful to run as ads on your sites/blogs.

Actually the launch of Google Ads are still only available to some select Adwords advertisers. You may not be able to create gadget ads in your own AdWords account. Gadget ads need a high level of technical resources to create, and generally also require a high level of support from the AdWords support team.

To avoid confusion for users, and to make sure we have appropriate levels of support, gadget ads are currently enabled for a limited number of AdWords advertisers who have created content-rich ads in the past.

How can you split testing on your site?

Gadget ads may be displayed in ad units that have been enabled in one of the supported Google Gadget Ads formats.

Ad Formats that are supported are:

  • 1 large rectangle (336×280)
  • 2 medium rectangle (300×250)
  • 3 wide skyscraper (160×600)
  • 4 leaderboard (728×90)

To have a chance your site is set up to display gadget ads, make sure you’re opted into image ads for that ad format – otherwise, your ad unit won’t display gadget ads.

If you do not see Google Gadget Ads showing up just yet it may simply be that gadget ads aren’t being targeted to your content or language region at this time. Gadget ads are still relatively new and Google inventory is yet not very large on this front.

My advice is to ensure you have opted in to both text and image ads for these ad units in order to maximize competition for your ad space and help ensure that the most profitable ads will display on your web pages.

Conclusion

Advertisers that receive traffic by traditional banner ads are cutting off good part of audience and they are icing on part of the earns. With this new ad format that Google has rolled out they could get much more visitors because they take control of another piece of the ad pie.
