We were anxiously waiting a program like this. If you can’t know a few graphs and figures from your online advertising stats, you can’t know which are the problems on your advertising optimization or how to make the most of the pages that work best.
If you are tired of your old ads dashboard, and you are looking to optimize your ads, it may well be worth checking out further a new service called “PubMat“, which offer a set of effective and easy functions to managing your advertising inventory, in line with what you would expect from such a service.
The PubMat ensures your website is making a lot of money as possible by optimizing it for the highest paying advertising company. In my review I take a look at how PubMat can make for an excellent service to optimizing your banner ads and allows you identifying and fixing those little or great problems that can penalize your own revenues.
PubMat Overview
What is PubMat? Still in pubblic beta at the time of my writing, PubMat is the new online professional revenue optimization, which claims that you could improve the most revenue possible for your web site’s ad inventory.
How Does It Work
Understanding how PubMatic works isn’t difficult. A publisher goes to the PubMat system, sign up for a free account, and creates one or more advertisements that he want to appear on his website. He must only change his old code, with PubMatic “ad tags”.
PubMatic recognizes which services offer the best return, and getting the highest paid ads to your website, through the information obtained from networks that are currently affiliate.
What ad layout maximizes click-throughs on your web site?
There are so many different solution to optimize your ad layout (color, size, location, text/banner/video, etc.) that it’s nearly impossible for you to know which layout will generate the most revenue.
Manage Ad Networks
Ad networks supported by PubMatic will give you the highest returns. Through your control panel you also get consistent, consolidated reports across all ad networks in one place. Not only boost the amount of money you make from your content consistently, but also it calculate your own winning advertising formula, so can save you to spent time to trying to optimizing it.
You can manage the ad networks that compete for the ad space on your web site from the “Ad Networks” tab. By increasing the number of ad networks that compete for each ad impression on your web site, you will increase the value of your ad inventory and therefore increase your revenue. PubMatic recommends that you work with as many ad networks as possible.
For the moment the affiliated networks supported are 5. You might recognize a few contextual advertisers like Google Adsense and Yahoo Publisher Network.
How Add More Ad Networks
- Select the “Ad Networks” tab at the top of the page.
- If you already have an account with an ad network, but have not yet associated it with your PubMatic account, click on the “Link an Existing Account” link next to the ad network name. You will then be prompted to provide your account login and password for the ad network and will be given the opportunity to associate your ad network account with your PubMatic account. Association is required in order for PubMatic to serve ads from the ad network on your behalf. The benefit to you, the publisher, is more advertisers competing for your ad space and more revenue as a result.
- If you do not have an account with the ad network, you can quickly set one up by clicking on the “Create New Account” link. You will need to fill out the ad network’s application form and be approved by the ad network. PubMatic recommends that you open as many accounts as possible in order to maximize your revenue.
- If you have already associated an ad network account with your PubMatic account, you can update your ad network account login or password by selecing the “Update Account login or password” link.
- Once you have finalized your list of ad networks, please be sure to revise any existing ad tags to take advantage of the new ad networks. Go to the Ad Tag Setup tab. If you have existing ad tags, simply update your existing ad tags by clicking on “Edit Saved Ad Tags”. By editing ad tags you have previously created and implemented, you will not have to revise the ad tags on your web site. Alternatively, you can create new ad tags by cliking on the Ad Tag Setup tab and the “Generate Ad Tag” link.
Interface
If you are new to online advertising it can be confusing at first trying to understand all the different values that are used to describe things.
PubMat gives you a single user interface with a number of choices of graphs (simple and not)for managing your ad network relationships and some options for your ad-layout configuration(size, color, and so on).
But that wasn’t enough, you are given some degree of control over your personal control panel, which allows you to display about your revenue, impression eCPM, click through rate (eCPM). This presents important information which allows you to determine your possible future strategies.
You’re looking at my account, you’re viewing the most popular reports across my control panel. You can see there is icons for report by month, day, and so on.

Widget
A new free-desktop widget allows you to view your ad-monitoring on a simple interface the widge allow you to check your revenue, CPM, clicks, impression and filter information.

Video demo
I would recommend taking a look at PubMatic video introduction to give a good idea of how their programs works. You can check out the following short video (6.26 minutes) created by PubMatic Team.
Conclusion
PubMatic is a definitely an idea and a service whose time has come. I think that PubMat complements My adsense stat pretty well, and can providing one of the easiest way to capture important information to have a support for a complete optimization.
However, this is far from ideal because it doesn’t really describe as working out which of the networks are going to pay you the highest CPC rates is still far from an exact science.
