I’m much happier now that I’m with WordPress, there’s a lot choosen here. When I moved from Movable Type to WordPress initially, so much had happened with WordPress development.

Today, I wish to share with you this 4 plugin. These is the most useful plugins made for wordpress that can serves for your SEO optimization. So which plugin is right for you? Is it Latest Post or Related Post? Or could it be the Top Post WordPress Plugin? Let’s also not forget Sideblog WordPress Plugin, which is also gaining popularity quickly.

Latest Post From Each Category Plugin For WordPress

One of the things your readers don’t have is time. So, If they wish view the latest news, this plugin is right for them. Latest post, lets you work and create the list of the latest post for a post or page, or use inside the template file.

How Install It:

To take advantage of it, you’ll need to install the file (For WordPress 2.0 through 2.3)
Rename it from .txt to .php, and upload it to your plugins directory.
Enable the plugin.
Configure the plugin option(under DDLatestFromEach)

How To insert the Latest Post by Category:

There are two ways you can use this plugin.

In a post or page, insert the following line:

<! — ddlastfromeach –>

In a template file, insert the following code:

<?php echo dd_last_from_each() ; ?>

A part the Latest post, it’s worth noting that you can also choose the sort order, show or hide the dates, select the date formatting and so on.

WP Plugin: Related Posts Link

This plugin is only available from WordPress 2.3 beta 1. WordPress 2.3 Related Posts Plugin will generate a related posts via WordPress 2.3 tags, and add the related posts to feed.

Installation and Usage:

Upload the WP23RP folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
Place <?php wp23_related_posts(); ?> in your templates
Navigate to Manage Panel > Option > WP23 Related Posts to configure plugin output.

Top Posts By Category

This WP plugin it’s just way to create top post by category. Top Posts By Category is a plugin for WordPress that allows bloggers to display their best posts categorywise, but give you a number of options, including the ability to determined the number of visits to the post or number of comments.

How To Install:

Just upload tpbc.php to your plugins folder and activate it.
Go to options and top post to customize options.
How to insert the top posts by category code.
To display your Top Posts list on your sidebar, put where you want the list to show up.
To display you Top Posts list within a page or within a post, edit the particular page or post, then put [ tpbc_list] (remove space) where you want the list to show up.

Sideblog WordPress Plugin

Now in version3, Sideblog is one of the most useful plugins made for WordPress platform. This plugin allows to add blog post on your sidebar. This release allows you can create a series of “short” posts “Asides” , 1-2 sentences in length.

How to install it:

Download the plugin here.
Upload the file sideblog.php into your plugins folder.
Go to plugin and activate it.

How to insert the Sideblog plugins:

To display your sideblog, put where you want the list to show up.

The plugin settings can be customized from the Options panel.

  The tool I want to show today is really cool. The guys behind Nmap.org, according to Alexa, have scanned the top 1 million sites on the web, and created a tool that allows to show the result based the favicon graph of each one. The size of each favicon in the graph indicate the traffic each website has.

  I wanted to try the service, so I used the search function, and here the result(look the image above). The only problem with my site is that the service doesn't show my latest favicon, but the favicon of my Frugal theme yet. Maybe has need to be upgraded to get the latest favicon logo.
