Recently, reading an article on Yaro Starak’s blog, I see that he using a widget that lets people to send him a short Audio comments about her site. Using a simple interface that even my grand mother could use out, the widget includes a name fields so all new users can be displayed. MyChingo Audio Comments System is a service offered by www.mychingo.com and it’s currently in beta release. Anyone can register for an voicemail account by filling out a simple form.

But MyChingo not doing this out of the kindness of his heart, in fact it’s not a free service. The price quoted is the equivalent of $3.95 for monthly subscription and $45.00 annual subscription . Its price probably worth it, and I thought if you’re a communicative type, this widget will right in your blog.
I get hundreds of spam comments every day. While traditionally the webmaster is responsible for filtering spam, and authenticating comments, MyChingo Audio Comments allows two ways which you can use it: 1) A public system: All messages you receive are automatically available for people to hear when you receive them. 2) Moderated, private system: You decide which messages people can listen to.
Brief Features
- All messages are recorded using
- BitRate: 32kbps
- Sample Rate: 44100
- 1 channel mono
- You can easily download your MP3 messages from your control panel
Conclusion
MyChingo™ Audio Comment System is the best way to collect audio comments in MP3 format from visitors to your web page especially If your inline community commentary isn’t as strong as it used to be.
I think there are some users who would like to have one of this service, it’s the first widget I’ve seen that lets audio comments and I hope there will be some free services in the future. I’m not paying $45 a year for an voicemail account, however $3.95/month seems a small price to pay for this useful widget. If it could be integrated to WordPress as a default commenting service, it would be even better. I’m sure more blog will use it in the days ahead.

Interesting post.
I launched MyChingo back in April of 2006.
It now resides on over 4,300 web sites.
I used to offer a free version, but bandwidth costs money and I have a family to take care of.
It’s funny how many people will use a service because it’s free and they think it’s a great thing – but if you ask them to pay for something which they use all of the time, then they are not so interested.
