Terribly Idea! Pay For FAKE RSS Readers
 ![]()
Buzz! Today I want to talk of a different kind of buzz. I just had a rather disturbing email from a friend on a new service called “RSSXplosion”. The site itself says that it’s specialized in selling fake readers. It will help you (If your RSS reader subscription is low) to increase your RSS subscribers, by paying for fake readers. JohnCow.com has a good post detailing about this service.Â
As first impression, I think this is a monumentally poor idea or concept ever, but this type of services shouldn’t come as a surprise because it reminded me the selling blog comments(BuyBlogComments.com) that offer to leave spam comments at a rate of 100 comments for $19.99. Great web blog like Read/WriteWeb and Problogger were all over it.
I’m no inclined to accept these type of services and I can not stress how bad of an idea this is. I think RSS aggregators are for serious readers who want to read the website from a RSS reader to know latest update post before going to the actual website, and they do not want see blog that have falsified results.
Here is their price list:

I know that some good bloggers have done OK about this. Reading the homepage there are some interesting things I’ve noticed as the testimonials of Mark from 45n5 and John Chow about this service.
Mark from 45n5.com:
“…Please don’t tell me these people are paying for some “perceived” earnings per 10 months equation or whatever. None of these blogs have been around 10 months to prove it…”
John Chow from JohnChow.com:
“All startup blogs share the same two common goals: increase readership and promote valuable content.”
I do not think they approves these type services because it will not be to their advantage. I cannot think they would want their site be appointed from this pathetic service.
I think it’s one of the worst business ideas I’ve heard for a long time and one that is potentially dangerous for the blogosphere and whole only weakens blogging. These services, have generally the underlying purpose of falsify result, and not of improving the blog quality, also, this will definitely hurt many blog sales.
I would love to hear your thoughts on RSSXplosion. To me this concept is very painful for anyone are honest with blogging. Buying fake subscribers for a blog is just wrong and no produces no value. It’s not the way to go about building quality. Something that bloggers should stand up against.
