Wendy at eMoms at Home posted an interesting interview with Darren Rowse on a discussion on how to convert advertising into revenue on a blog – especially CPC ads (cost per click) like AdSense or Chitika.
In this article, Darren Rowse examines a few points and provides suggestion to make this, but the core of the interview can be summary in 3 main points.
1. Positioning – You already know that ad units placed near the content tend to get the most click, especially if it are above and in the end of article.
2. Relevancy – The contextual model, has made Adsense as popular because identifies the topics you’ve just written about a product or services and puts an ad up relate to that content.
3. Traffic – If you don’t have traffic to your site, it’s similar to opening a Wal-Mart store in the middle of the desert. But according to Darren adsense no work with all traffics. The traffic coming from search engines can be useful to getting clicks with programs like ‘AdSense’ ads while traffic from link inbound from others blogs can be quite good with affiliate programs.
In my view these are three effective strategies and I personally recommending it to several bloggers who are beginning their journey into the blogosphere.
