Google Directory Updated: Why Am I Still Being Punished?

As maybe you know, the Google penalization on Problogger has just been returned to PageRank of 6. While some bloggers is waiting for a reconsideration by Google,

I have read countless articles on the topic, including an article of DazzlinDonna’s of SEO Scoop, titled “Matt Cutts, why Am I still being punished? “.

In this post, DazzlinDonna’s has opened an interesting conversation with Google SEO Matt Cutts by expressing in a short but interesting article her delusion for Google’s ongoing penalization of her site.

DazlinDonna says:

I canceled my sponsored review accounts. I switched to a different method of monetization (Scratchback) that serves Google-friendly, nofollowed links. (And btw, Google, that put a huge dent in my revenue, just so you know). Finally, after I cleaned up everything that might possibly make you hate me, I filed a reconsideration request about 5 weeks ago.

And I did all that for…what? Did you give me my PR back? No, you did not.

It hard to know the reason why Google search engine penalized a few sites and others not, and what to do if your website has been penalized by Google via a lowered PageRank. In the comment section, Matt Cutts went to providing direct help to Donna’s and explain the reason why she is been hit so hard.

Matt says:

In general you want to go with the reconsideration request approach rather than invoking me (that’s not scalable , but since you submitted a request I’m happy to check on the status of the site in the reconsideration queue.

If I could, I’d say exactly how to make to get the pagerank back, sadly, reality is different – so I can only offer you four easy tips of Matt Cutts that they can help you to be reconsidered by Google.

1) You already know that Google hates text links and that punish when find them inside your blog. Better hide or delete them directly.

2) You better think twice when you search the problem of penalization. Sometimes the mistake is beyond a single page. So, make a complete verification of all your pages. It’s very hard to do and requires many time, but it’s for your own security, folks.

3) How much time you’ve expected? If the answers is “much”, than consider to resubmitting your site for reconsideration request link. But don’t expect an answer by Google.

4) If you make use of Pay Per review services like PayPerPost or Reviewme, then add “no-follow” tag when you insert outgoing links on your site. However, this strategy do not leave you in a secure position because, recently Google team has hit user directly from their PayPerPost user profileConclusion

It is certainly possible for a website to survive without pagerank but what happens if Google remove definitely all these site from own index? I would love to hear your thought on this especially if you have any other possible explanations for explain these horrible results with new Google update. Let’s keep the debate on!

What you are trying to say in your point #1? I don’t think that Google hates text links. Can you please explain in which way you are pointing it.

There are many reason to say this:

1) Why Matt Cutts, says:

2) Paid links can potentially skew the index.

3) Why Text Link Ads is not Already in Google SERP

4) Google and Text Link Ads have similar revenue streams

5) Google knows where and how it has placed advertising throughout the web, but links placed through companies like Text Link Ads are more difficult for Google to discern and and can thereby affect how Google calculates PageRank for the sites involved

Google punishing sites by manually reducing the PageRank for sites involved in the buying and selling of links, most notably Text Link Ads.

  The tool I want to show today is really cool. The guys behind Nmap.org, according to Alexa, have scanned the top 1 million sites on the web, and created a tool that allows to show the result based the favicon graph of each one. The size of each favicon in the graph indicate the traffic each website has.

  I wanted to try the service, so I used the search function, and here the result(look the image above). The only problem with my site is that the service doesn't show my latest favicon, but the favicon of my Frugal theme yet. Maybe has need to be upgraded to get the latest favicon logo.
