If you haven’t heard to talk about him, Maki is one of great of the bloghospere that’s behind a blog called “DoshDosh”. Recently, were surprised I seen his RSS readership broke the 10,000 subscriber mark.
In a his blog post Maki explain what he did (or really, what he didn’t do) to realize how get his result. Here’s his post -

Maki says:
The main reason why people subscribe to blog feeds can be explained in one sentence: Readers subscribe to blogs when they provide an informational or entertainment value so great that it would be a loss to not subscribe to it.
I can tell you it doesn’t happen very often to have a success so rapidly with a blog. When think to Maky, I always think him as a great blogger. Her marketin strategy is based on simplicity. He presenting himself as he truly is. A simply bloggers who wishes expand own experience to others people on the net.
If quality is the defining point of differentiation amongst bloggers, Maki has positioned itself very well. Her quality blogg allows him to not done any major promotions with a free report, or video or podcasting either.
Also:
- Not running contents
- Not displaying his feedcount as a social proof tool until after he broke 10,000 subscribers
- Not submitting guest posts to other blogs
- No paid advertising to promote his blog
- Not writing a blog post every day
I have realized how strong Maky when I saw her blog. I’m sure little bloggers can replicate her results. Many, but not all, pubblisher start well with blogging because there are so many uncertainties. The feeling overwhelms the amount of time it takes to generate content.
Most of us bloggers not have 10000 subscribers after only a year of blogging. For this I think Maki is great. Nowadays, get high quality content to be accepted by readers and getting to be revisited by them is very hard and it’s the challenge we need to overcome.
Compared to us normal bloggers, Maki is a genius, the quality of his content, writing style and his knowledge has been essencial to make a differences to other 71 milion of websites.
For blog owners, producing world class content often isn’t good enough. You need to convince the millions of web users out there that your blog is worthy of their valuable time. It’s very hard!
For example, there is no need to publish twenty-five post covering all kinds of news, Maki post one article max a day and don’t publish every day, always.
I would like know something of more about him, for example know his strategy of research for choose his topics for write his great articles. But he doesn’t written much about himself on his blog and don’t give more information about that.
Maki of doshdosh reminds me a lot Leo of Zen Habits another blogger that he built and developed her blog to getting target traffic whenever possible. But while Make is more reserved in this way, Leo tells a lot of himself and often spends how his days with own family. Another great great blog! I recommend you to make a jump on.
