Getting page ranked for certains keywords in Google’s search result is often the most important goal for web developers. Recently, Google updated their keyword tool. One nice addition to the Google keyword tool is the inclusion of actual numbers instead of the bars representing data. What does this mean?

In brief, improves the keyword research ability. It’s not a massive change, but an release actual numbers from their keyword data, as Yahoo.  On Google keyword tool you can choose which type of volume you want to display.

• Approx search volume:june. This is the total number of search volume for th month.
• Approx avg. search volume. This is the average per month search volume.

We can notice from the screen that the volume is going for the top “money” keyword phrases. Look the image to view the result below.

Test 1. In this example below, I’ve choose “Descriptive words or phrases” route, and I put as generic term “money” and set Google’s synonyms feature. We see what happens. How you can notice for the term “money” there’s an high “Aprox Avg Search Volume” value which means that is too competitive keyword.

Test2. In this second example I’ve changed the screen, enter the webpage URL on the radio button “Website content” to find keywords related to the content on the page. The screen will change to allow for a URL to be spidered. I want to see how Google sees this page’s which is very important in my SEO strategy. Because if Google can properly read this url, I’m probably going to rank well for the terms I’m targeting.

As you can see from this image above, the page is bad  optimized and “macbook” and “contest” are not two of the main keywords. In my view, this is very useful and good strategy worth your time to learn.

Google contains more than 100 algorithms that make it the world’s most popular search engine. One of hose is PageRank, a complex voting system where keyword is an important factor to create the own business because, just like any other product, blogs to can be positioned and should be positioned, especially if you want to make money with them.
