Blogger pour their energy into content and resource creation, making a lot of work to look to writing an attractive blog post. There are a lot of thing to do to building a post, as headline, content, etc. But, not only. Usually, anyone planning an article should ask these questions:

  • What are you trying to say through your post?
  • What is the point of this content?
  • What is an attractive headline?

These are three important things to know if you want persuade readers to read your article. Just like the word, making using of picture could be a great way to intrigue the reader and get her to keep reading. Some times make use of pictures is worth more than thousand words.

How To Add A Photo To Your Blog Post

When is the image the story and when is the words necessary for the story? The image might be beautiful, instructive, odd, curious, and for reader that read the first line of the post can give a big boost to read the rest of content.  When you struggle to build a strong blog post it’s important to examine the words and images you want to use, for each image and paragraph you need to find the right combination and balance for your message.

Ask these questions: Does it add to the story?Does it subtract from the story? Once you know the answer, you can Choose the right images that helps you tell the story while you can use enough words to fill in the rest of the blanks.

Use Emotional Images

What’s the topic of your blog post? News? guide? technology? business? And its personality? Funny? Combative? Compassionate?

Know these aspect of your blog post is the first step and essential in order decide which image choose. Recently, I used an image of a women for the article “How To Be Interesting”. Why? First, because is a smart move if you’re trying to attract people, second because everybody likes womens.

There are a lot of images for any mood. Images of landscapes are relaxant and can make people feel good, while an image of puppies can be a good move to choose a photo that can make people smile. I use two sources for nearly all images I use.

Where I Find My Photo

There are many places where find free photography out there. I use two sources for nearly all images I use. The first is iStockphoto, which has a range of photography very efficients and with low prices.

For a blog post, you can use their search tool to find smallest size image, which cost over $1 depending on how many credits you buy at a time. The second source I like is the Flickr Creative Commons. Image are free, the only thing that’s required is a link back to the photographer.
