Today I want to start with an important question: Do You make using of PayPal account to making purchase online or paying directly with your credit card? As many of us know, PayPal is a system that allows anyone to make an online payment or set up a merchant account.
Whether you have a Paypal account you are able to do purchase online at any website, but only if you attach a valid credit card to their account.
Then, isn’t convenient. Maybe is more better to use a credit card to make an online purchase. Well, not necessarily. Below, I want show both sides of the PayPal coin. I’ve put a list the Pros and Cons of using a PayPal account as opposed to making a direct online purchase with your credit card.
PayPal Pros
It’s free to get started with PayPal - You don’t have need to start up fees or any monthly fees. PayPal take 2.9% of each sale plus $0.30 for any transaction.
Customers have no need to be PayPal members to pay -Some time ago any visitors needed to become members, but PayPal now allows anyone with a Visa or Mastercard to pay without be a member.
Easier to buy in websites through PayPal account - It’s damn easy to buy in websites through PayPal account. A lot of sellers prefer using an PayPal account to get paid online, and with PayPal account, it’s now easier for you to buy in eBay and other websites. Once you have a bank account you can set up your business account at PayPal in a matter of minutes.
You don’t need - You don’t need server space, and security certificate, PayPal manages all of these things for you.
Hacked - You lessen the risk of having your credit card hacked. This because you use your credit card and PayPal account togheter.
Easier to get refunds when scammed - PayPal is famous for a feature that works to your advantage in case you did not receive the product your paid for, or you were scammed. All you have to do is a complaint in PayPal and provide the details of the transaction. After a few days your funds will be credited back to your account. Most of credit card companies, do not offer this service or even if they do, it might take days, weeks, or months before you can get your funds back.
PayPal Cons
Credit card and PayPal account work togheter - Without credit card, no PayPal account. PayPal don’t allows to open an account with them if you don’t provides your credit card details.
More charges - You pay more when you use your PayPal account to purchase online, especially if the product you are purchasing is priced in a different currency.
Conclusion
Though it may be seemed like a long post, it’s just the tip of the iceberg about the actual capacity of PayPal. From my own experience I prefer to pay more with PayPal than the credit card because is more speedy and secure system. Also, PayPal is in my view the simplest way to get going with e-commerce on your website. If you have one.
