To find the right niche in a large market like internet, all you have to do is to just think about a specific product, for example (notebook, phone, etc).
For many years the Overture Keyword Suggestion tool was the only free, publicly available keyword research tool. Now, people can use another free keyword tool to see what comes up, called Keyword Discovery.
Of course, to find a good niche you need to find keyword that have more than 20,000 searches per month. For instance, whether you want building a site about notebooks, all you have to do is to type the word “notebooks” at Keyword Discovery and get all sorts of results.
As result, the main keyword get 31429 searches per month. In my view, this is a good niche. Also, there are all sorts of more specific keywords under the main word. This result is particularly helpful for the second part, when I go over to eBay and use their search engine to see what kind of auction activity is going on.
The term “notebooks” on eBay have 55.002 results found at the moment I wrote this article, with priced at more than $100. This looks like a very active niche and one that you could to take advantage of. That’s it!
