Massive Increases in Earnings With Chitika Mega Units

When people think about making money with a blog, they tend to think about things like Adsense and affiliate links. Well, there are other alternative to make money online.

After Adsense, Chitika is maybe the better way to make money blogging. Recently, they have released new ad unit option for publishers wanting to monetize their blog traffic of people arriving from search engines – called “mega unit” premium ad unit.

The new advertising space available is 550×255 pixel sized ad. Sure, it’s big, but the test gave some pretty interesting results. Publishers that used the new ad banner have exponentially increased their earnings.

How Does It Works

1. The new “mega unit” are how all Chitika’s ‘Premium’ ad unit and can be shown to US/Canadian readers arriving on your site from Google search engine or one of the other search engines.

2. Chitika reckons that the better position for the ad is above your content(above the headline) or below content.

3. If you prefer, there’s also an option that allows you to choose to show your ad units for non search traffic, but I recommend you don’t choose this option if you don’t want the ad collapse. I think showing the premium ad units to search engine traffic is a great idea to show it at all.

4. You can choose different colors and fonts.

5. The ad unit have a more chance to be clicked, because the ad displayed are relate to the topic the person arriving on your site has interested.

6. Far and away the best thing the premium ad units offers is that while their previous ad units could be used to gadget related sites – these ad units are converting for all kinds of sites and topics. Obviously, some sites convert better than others.

  The tool I want to show today is really cool. The guys behind Nmap.org, according to Alexa, have scanned the top 1 million sites on the web, and created a tool that allows to show the result based the favicon graph of each one. The size of each favicon in the graph indicate the traffic each website has.

  I wanted to try the service, so I used the search function, and here the result(look the image above). The only problem with my site is that the service doesn't show my latest favicon, but the favicon of my Frugal theme yet. Maybe has need to be upgraded to get the latest favicon logo.
  
  If you have an Alexa rank below 1,000,000, you are able to identifying the favicon of your website and the websites you know. Also, it allows you to zoom in and out. Through their search box you should be able to find your favicon in a few second.
