UPDATE - 5 febbrary 2009 - Recently, I’ve noticed a lot of blogs using popup subscription box on the main page. The reason is because super marketers like Darren Rowse, Yaro Starak, John Chow and ShoeMoney have opened the way on their blogs, and now many people follow them. The only downside when you use the classic popup box is that covers the whole homepage when you display it.

Sure, you could think that a blogs that have constant readers and constant followers every day, does not need to use a system like this, right?. However, despite also Darren, Shoe, and Chow have thousand of subscribers and followers, they use a popup box to grab more traffic again and again.

Personally, I find limited number of characters, while the overlay boxes can be adjusted to fit content. Also, freezing users is useful try to convince them to optin, especially when they leave your site.

Instant Slide Up can be also used as an advertisement platform or to promoting a product, but using it as an OptIn is very powerful, since it does capture some ones attention.

• Quickly to install, you need only 5 minutes to complete the process.
• No Database needed. This simplify the intere installation process.
• Not obstrusive to visitors.
• Great support.
• Cannot be blocked by browser(unless javascript is disabled)
• Ability to show all the time or once per visitors.

Cons

• You are no able to integrated with Feedburner email form. However, you can resolve the problem by setting a link to feedburner popup.

The only thing I’ve noticed is that there’s no info about Rob Chuah on the website, however I’ve tested his support, and I can attest that is incredible, and once you submit a form, he respond within 30 minutes.

Price

Rob has decided to give away instant slideup wordpress plugin for $67.00. Despite it could be an high price for one plugin, I can safely say that it’s worht the price and could be an investment for the future. Remember, that it takes money to make money, right? If you capture more readers you captures more potential customers. Also, once you increased your traffic, you should be able to recover this money really fast.
