What is a persuasion? Is generally a strategy to convince someone to do something or that others find beneficial to agree with or you make them an offer they can’t refuse. In particular, persuasive writing involves convincing the reader to perform an action, such as sale, lead, and so on.
According to Wikipedia:
Persuasive writing, also known as an argument, is used to convince the reader of a writer’s argument(s) relating to a debatable issue. Persuasive writing involves convincing the reader to perform an action, or it may simply consist of an argument(s) convincing the reader of the writer’s point of view. Persuasive writers employ many techniques to improve their argument and show support for their claim. Another definition is “an essay that offers and supports an opinion”.
You can apply a few techniques that can make your article more persuasive. Despite this list is in no way complete, these strategies are a lot used by affiliate marketers because they work.
Social Proof
According to Wikipedia the definition of Social Proof is:
Social proof, also known as informational social influence, is a psychological phenomenon that occurs in ambiguous social situations when people are unable to determine the appropriate mode of behavior.
Making the assumption that surrounding people possess more knowledge about the situation, they will deem the behavior of others as appropriate or better informed.
In a nutshell, Social proof is one of the most powerful strategy to apply in your blog, that helps you sell more products or services for growing a successful business. The classic examples of social proof are:
- Product testimonials – Testimonials are absolutely essential to encourage an impulse sale.
- Banners - The banners place at the top of website are much more attractive, especially in the eyes of those in the know.
Solving Customers Problem
Once you identified the problem, then help to resolve it. Be clear about your solution, if you’re credibly giving a solution, then you’ve demonstrated to have understood his problem because you’ve enough experience at eliminating it. If you can’t put your finger on your customer’s problem, you won’t solve it. This is a extremely persuasion technique.
Pronosticate
Another persuasion strategy is to providing your readers an previsione of future events. This part has need to build credibility. If you don’t know what you’re talking about, customers don’t seem fully convinced about what you are writing.
Storytelling Approach
If you need people to be receptive to your line or convince your reader to do something, tell a story allows you to persuade well. In my view, is one of better persuasive writing strategy. I reccomend to use this strategy togheter other I’ve listed previously.
Repetition
Talking to people and repeat often what you’re saying can be both good and critical. It depend by structured your message, then be careful.
Be Rational
Getting the reader to agree with something that most people would have hard time disagreeing with.
Comparision
You can casually integrate elements like metafors, similes, and so on. This persuasive writing work well. You can comparing your offers with something reader already accept as true. For instance you can compare the features of your product with a similar product, but not compare with the price of another product.
