How To Set Up Your Landing Page

I’ve promised me to do more reviews about how to build landing page that convert well. Today, I want to make some consideration on how to do effective changes to your landing page in order to selling more products.

First and foremost, a landing page is any page on a website built to receive traffic specifically to get a certain action, for example sales, leads, and so on.

  • Traffic comes from a pay per click(PPC) campaign such as Google AdWords, Facebook, Myspace, etc. You can use  multiple landing pages optimized to rank well for different keywords in different engines that the readers use for make their search.
  • Traffic comes from a banner ad to a landing page specifically designed to address that target audience.
  • Traffic is sent from a link within email newsletter to a landing page that have the purpose to prompt a purchase or other action.
  • Traffic is sent from a blog post or sidebar link to a landing page that pre-sells affiliate products or encourages to subscribe to a list.
  • The page you’re currently reading is a content landing page designed to organize many related pages around an overall theme.

Imagine, you have a site about “home mortgage” that has been hard hit by recession in the housing market and you lose your subscription rate.

Ok, it’s a tough market out there and you start selling a bit.

Well, today I want to highlight some useful tips that help you to grow this volume of selling and the current subscription rate.

The goal: Increase subscriber

The problem: Low subscription rate

1. Check if your company logo and name is in the home page and any single pages. Tell who you are, if you are a real company, with your name logo and even location.

2. Standardize your use of font/sizes/colors and images. Create a professional presentation and establish authority and credibility to the message.

3. Whether you start story about you and your business be sure to add an image.

4. Make visible your guarantee upfront in order your copy more believable.

5. Write more about what the reader will benefit by getting your product or follow your advices.

6. Once they sign up you can upgrade them to a different kind of package with a longer time-frame.

7. Let away any other extraneous elements in order to focus on the product.

8. Create a benefit-rich headline that can be of interest for the reader’s.

9. Don’t use too text in red, blue, etc, bold or plain, because can become very hard to read. I’d use bold sparingly and use the colors blue, green, and red for highlight links, price, and numbers.

10. Simple is better. Use a one-column format with white space to increase reading comprehension in order to persuade visitors to read and engage with your message.
