According to a new study by an email marketing firm, nearly a quarter of the email sent to Gmail MSN, Comcast, Hotmail, and AOL, never sent to readers. Yes, you’re understand, some of emails doesn’t get delivered at all, and this factor depends by senders. No, I’m not saying it a bounce message, or it goes to a junk box, just Gmail or other services decided not to give to you.
This is the main reason people think email marketing is dead. They decide what their subscribers should be allowed to request, and delete message that they don’t think you should have asked for in the first place.
Usually, the messages getting deleted, talk about subjects like, “How to make money online”, or “how to find more traffic”, and so on. As you can see are subject, I write about all the time in my email newsletter.
The only different is that my open rates are around 80%.
For the most, my messages are getting opened, and people are clicking on what they read. What makes the difference?
My email newsletter give lots of unique information and advice. Sure, I do promotion, but it’s only 10% of my email. 90% are useful information for my readers.
I get a lot of email and most of them are so boring that often unsubscribe them or let them in the spam filter and deleting them, after.
In general, is very easy for getting not to open an email. It easy that many people will just mark you as a spammer and those are the folks who are getting penalized in Gmail.
It’s true, the main reasons people don’t receive Gmail is because people send boring messages and got marked as spammmers.
Who Needs Of Old Email?
While RSS is a great way to cut through the millions of websites out there, and lets know to your readers all of the marketing latest related news, if you want to move from conversation to commerce, email just works better.
Email lists are more effective and are more intimate than RSS, then more profitable. Also, the ROI on email marketing remains far above that of search or other marketing channels.
In general, my readers trust me, and really want what I send them. I fix their problems and send them good stuff. That is the good way if you want to have successfully with email marketing in 2009.
