In general, if you want promote these type of offers is hard to know what really promote. One of the most important factor for me, isn’t the potential for profit, although that’s a motivating factor too, but if I know that is a valid resource for my readers.
First and foremost I try to understanding what offers work best to my market, so I need to test.
When I promoted my first product that cost over $1000 I made one sales. I earned about $400 in commission(40%), which was by far the largest affiliate income return I had ever made with my blog at the time. This was about when my blog was 9 months old.
With high priced products you don’t need to sell many to make good money, but the downside is that it’s hard to convert well, often you can make zero sales too, so I promote both smaller and big affiliate products, from $30 to $1000, so I have a good feel for what my readers looking for.
Of course, price is not all, the thing for me most relevant is the offer. You could selling more expensive items, than many lower priced products, because in that moment your audience ask that.
What Promote And What Not
Often, I receive email of CEO that asking me to promote their product on my blog. Unfortunatly, not all are good, so I think it serves more to help people understand how best to find affiliates promotion.
Personally, I try on promoting only a few products when:
- I’ve formed a personal relationship with them.
- I get big results in a market that interest my readers.
I reccomend to avoid relying on any one particular affiliate. Before to chose an affiliate partners you need think something long term.
Before to starting with affiliate marketing follow these things:
- Choosing the right niche, and focus on what your readers wants. Learn to know the most problems or the desires of your readers.
- Creating your list of content strategy to resolve their problem.
- Find and test different products that help readers to solve their problems.
