Some days you’ve no idea about which headlines choose and this fact can bring your next post to a halt. Other days the words flow from brain to page very quickly.
If you have no headline inspiration at your disposal, Here are some places & opportunities to seek out inspiration to kick-start the headline. I hope you find this article helpful and maybe a bit inspiration for your next blog post headlines.
Where Do You Go To Find Inspiration?
Digg – When you’re in a bind and do not know where to get inspiration, the Digg front page is a goldmine for getting inspiration. Every articles are voted based the headlines that catch readers attention. Many Digg users vote without read the full story, only based on article titles and the brief description.
Newsletters – Recently, Frank Kern sent me an mail titled “Hey, look this!”. This type of title tempt anyone to open to read the full email. If you were tempted to open an email to read the content, it’s because you have been attracted by the headlines. So, I reccomend to subscribe to many newsletter as you can, and take ispiration from the email you receive into your mail box.
Twitter – Twitter is another great source of headline inspiration. Through their search engines I find thousand of examples for my purpose. Highly reccomended.
Magazine – When you don’t know what choose, take a glance at magazine. Go into the library, where they’ll find copies of print magazines of each type. A few tweaks at the headlines and you’ll have all the headlines you’ll need for a long time.
In general when you get stuck, start writing two words, for instance“How to”, in this way forces you to focus on what problem you are solving.
