Today is Day 2 in the “the 31 days for build a successful blog” and today your task is to choose and install your first CMS platform.
Used primarily by bloggers, WordPress is become in these years one of the most popular CMS software available out there – The better thing is that you can grab it for free directly from WordPress.org home page. However, there are other features that make me happy to using this great platform.
1. WordPress is free to use – All you have to do is to go on WordPress.org and download your copy.
2. Easy to install – I can not emphasize enough how much simple is to install. Also, If you use Bluehost how web hosting service, you can install your CMS platform in only three simple step without any PHP knowledge.
3. High quality themes – You have an high range of themes(free or paid theme) to choose from.
4. Flexibility – You can add an extra feature in a simple and quick way. All you have to do is to download the plugin, upload it through FTP then turn it on in the admin panel.

Once downloaded latest WordPress version(Currently, there’s the 2.8.6 version available), just edit the config.php file, and using Filezilla(it’s free) to upload the file to run the installation. At this point you take at least 1 minutes to run WordPress.
Of course, as I said first, through Bluehost or others similar web hosting this might be simplified, too. In only three step you are able to run your site without effort.

Now, once installed WordPress, the default theme provided with WordPress is based on the Kubrik theme. But honestly, if there’s on thing that does not convince me with this theme is that it’s used by thousand of bloggers out there.
Of course you can looking for a free wordpress theme. However, I admit that despite free theme can be a great thing for newbie, or who are starting an own personal blog. Instead, for those are going to start an business online like me, I reccomend to make a little investment and purchase an professional theme.
