In my blogging journey, I always post about how to start blog, how to create a successful blog, how to optimize a blog, and how to make money from a blog, but I realized I have never written a post about why people blog.
Who have never created a blog before, could believe that people blog just for money, but that’s not true. There are many reasons people blog. Below, I listed some possible reasons people blog:

Recession - Impact of the economic crisis, has led people to start blogging because has need to make additional income, for example pay bills, rent, and so on. Also, some person whom I know who started blogging, when their companies started cutting down head count to survive in the recession.
Interest - This is the first reason I started blogging, and I think is the main reason many people blog. People like share their interest, what they like, and write for themselves. Basically this is what Blogging is all about.
Also, people who start blogging for hobby, do not care about how to increase the traffic and get comments. Instead, people who commenced on blogging seriously, write for grow their blog popularity, and for receive more comment as possible. I believe this should be the aim to reach for have success with blog.
Sharing - Another important reason people start a blog is for sharing their knowledge. People like to share what their have found or learned from the net, and using their blog like a platform where write about things they know.
Usually, many people prefer to start a blog with multiple multiple topics, like me, other prefer to focus on one or maximun two topics. Once, you have planned what you want to share, you can also thinking to monetize your knowledge, as well.
Money – If on one hand people start blogging for money, and thinking that is easy getting a few click and earn a commission, on the other hand, and from my experience it’s not so easy as seems. People that do not have a well planned road map for the blog, or not choose a targeted niche, they will fail to make money online.
Popularity - People that want to become famous with blogging are similar to people that want to become as the celebrity. When people see successful man like Darren, John Chow, Bansal, Amit Agarwal, who have reached the success, they think of becoming like them. This is human tendency.
However, if you do not have passion and patience, get popularity become very hard in blogging. If you think to become rich quickly, or you plan to blog for popularity, you will never reach your goals. In this case, you should not try blogging, at least as a career. Succesfull bloggers out there are person that are incredibly simples, and never think to become someone.
Why I Blog?
The first real reason I am doing it is for passion. Second, for share my knowledge. I love to write and put down my thoughts into words and share my knowledge with more people from different parts of the world.
