Today’s task in “The 31 Days For Build A Successful Blog” project is to know the importance to create some interlinking in your posts.

As you write every day, and add more post to your blog, there will be a lot of possibility to create interlinks between your articles, as well. So, you can increase the number of page views to your blog.

Why Is Interlinking Posts The Right Choice?

I can say that there are three main reasons why I often spend time and time to update my previously written posts on my blog with links to other posts on my blog.

1. SEO – Linkback to your blog are the great ways to start ranking high in Google, but Google and other search engines also check out how are positioned links within a blog in order to index their content.

2. Increase Page Views – Once you add more links into old posts you’ve more chance to increases the visitor to your blog, more than just the one page. The more visit to your old page you have the more higher your CPM(cost per impression) will be.

3. Usefulness to Readers – My goal is to make my blog more useful for my readers. Who visits my site should find a post that also provides further links on where they can find related topics. A reader that find an answers to a question, are more likely to return and share your post to other people.

Another reason is that when someone views more than a single page on your blog that they’re more likely to remember it, comment upon it, subscribe to it, and become a regular reader too.

How Do I Create Interlinks

I often, create interlinks between new posts to older ones  – however this process take me a bit of my time each day.

So, when I do this, my approach is:

1. I find that add links inside the post itself work pretty well and help you to drive people on other old pages on your blog as they are a little more natural.

2. I use a ‘related post plugin’ and add the link at the bottom of my post. The plugin I use is called “similar post“, but is compatible only with WordPress 1.5–2.6.2.

Conclusion

Of course, the plugins is all ok. I like use it at the end of articles of my blogs, but I realized that in content links get an higher clicks through rate than the ‘related posts’ at the end of articles.

So, I reccomend to go back to some of your previously written posts and identify where you might add link to other related post.
