It’s wrong to pay Google, Yahoo, MSN or Facebook thousands of dollars to drive visitors to landing pages who won’t convert into sales due their content and design. Today I want to present a case study of my latest project, quality-natural-supplements.com.
As you can notice, you won’t need to spend a fortune to build an attractive landing page. My landing page is a simple .html files. Recently, I’ve made some little change on the content. The new landing page have the same topic, targeting the same demographic, getting the same search traffic per day of my old landing page, but has made a big difference in conversion rates only because I’ve changed the content.
To improve the performance of my landing page I used a method called A/B split testing. A/B testing is a simple, scientific way to isolate and test web or blog pages and see how they convert. It is like compare the quality picture of two monitors. Which picture is sharper, A or B?”
For instance, you choose the monitor A, and then make a small adjustment. Then, you must ask yourself again, “A or B?” Each time, you make another small change, always taking the better result. This process continue until you will get the better quality image between the two monitors…….well, you need to apply the same step to a landing page.
How To Change Your Landing Page

In general, the content uses an easy language with specific, value and benefit-oriented points. Specifics are almost always important for conversion. Here a quick look at some of the main parts of my new landing page:
Write An Headline That Get Attention
The headline at the top of landing page “Take Control of Your Health With A Proven Natural Supplement”, indicate the nature of the topic and persuade visitors to continue to read the content.
In general, Headlines, subheads should:
- Provide reader with a sense of URGENCY,
- Be USEFUL to the him,
- Convey the idea that the main benefit is somehow UNIQUE
According to some of the best marketers of all time, you should spend half of the entire time it takes to write a piece of persuasive content on the headline. So if you have a landing page that is really important to your business, one that you really want people to read, you should downright obsess over your post title.
Providing Real Proof
In general, it isn’t what you know but what you’ve tested. If you want that someone purchase your products or services you’ve need to test it first. Anytime I promote an affiliate offer I tend to use it, and give my honest opinion, so my readers can make the right choice.
From my landing page: “There are tons of products in the nutritional supplement market. As any thing some of them are good, others not and could make you lose your money. In this years I’ve tried different supplements, so according to my experience I want to recommend a product I have finally tested. Many people have tried this product and said that helped them improve their health and change their lives too. I can not remember when I started using natural supplements, but is a lot of time ago. Now, All my close friends, family and acquaintances, are using the highest-quality multi-vitamin I have recommended and all have noticed tremendous health benefits from using them.”
Get Testimonials
Adding testimonials to your landing page can increase your conversion rate and increase sales. Get real testimonial from friends, parents, who have had some problem and have resolved it by using the products or services you are promoting. This is the better way to gain your visitors’ trust before they actually get to know you.
From my landing page: “My friend John, for example, has suffered from stress due his study. I have been trying to help him for a long time, and in the end it all came down to nutritional deficiencies. He’s now able to study better and he has done for a very long time”.
Note: If you are looking for testimonial, whenever somebody praises your service or product, remember to ask for their permission to publish that on your web page.
Specific

Supposing you’ve done your homework and all the people that come to your landing page are targeted visitors, at this point they want getting more information about your product. For instance for my landin page I’ve included the ingredient of the product I’m selling.
Design Affects Landing Page Conversion
Using static images to make your page better organized. Also, this is one of the important factor that directly persuade your visitors to read the full article. Make sure the theme and color schemes are simple and relaxing the eyes. Don’t use black text color on gray background, but use black on white.
Calls to action
Last but not least, this is an important point many marketers lack. My overall recommendation is to choose well text with colors, placements, size, on the call to action throught the page.

I’m creating my basic landing page today. I’ll make sure that I’ll check it against your tips here. I liked the idea of incorporating an example, wouldn’t have thought of that.
Thanks!
