Unless you’ve been living in the moon, during these years, you’ve no doubt encountered pop-ups in the blogs.
However, for those that are new with these technology, Pop-up ads or pop-ups is a small window with a graphical user interface that suddenly appears(“pops up”) in the foreground of the visual interface. That kind of online advertising has the purpose to increase web traffic or capture email addresses.
Pop-ups can be initiated by a single or double mouse click or rollover (sometimes called a mouseover). Also, it possibly to command it by voice or can simply be timed to occur. I want be clear about one thing. There are bad pop up and not. That’s my conclusion after I’ve tested several of these script or plugins.
Many pop up are not bad, and if used correctly could help many bloggers increase readership, grab attention, purchase a product and so on.
For instance when I used one to offer my Free eBook for a free subscription to this site, my subscription rate jumps like you wouldn’t believe. Of course, I do not always use this strategy because I think my readers may irritate too, however it worked well.
Of course, you could think that a site that have a huge amount of traffic every day, does not need to use a system like this, right?. However, despite also Darren, Shoe, and Chow have thousand of subscribers and followers, they use a popup box to grab more traffic again and again.

As I said first there are plugins that allows you to avoid any kind of action made for block them. Recently my friend Ovidiu let me know a cool plugin wich allow you to avoid this problem called “WPopup!“. This plugin is different from commons pop-up script. In a nutshell, It allow you to display a non-blocked popup image on your site pages.
Through this plugin you can leave cool message in any part of your blog without that any toolbar will block it while an user access to your blog.
The example below will show you how I can use the plugin on my site coupons.the3dtechnologies.com. As you can see, it isn’t intrusive and very effective to grab attention of your readers.

Very well written article Nicola!! I think such small pop-ups are never annoying and the annoying are those which open up in new screens and contain heavily loaded flash ads. These days many bloggers use these, so surfers are very well used to these.

Though I personally hate these pop-up ads yet I came to know a lot about the benefit they provide. I think these popups are to be used on professional blogs or say niche blogs. No such use on personal blogs.

The pop up ads that open in a new window is really annoying, it can really irritate new visitors. But I think Unblockable Pop up Plugin is far better than annoying pop up ads that open in a new window.

I personally don’t prefer pop-ups as they are distracting and annoys the readers. But using it once in a while is ok. And even though I am against it, I must admit that I have came across good free ebooks through such pop ups only.
