When I’ve created an account with Facebook I throught that wasn’t useful to promoting my blog post. Too effort, and too time consuming for me, as I wasn’t be sure to get some return of traffic as well.
However, recently I did some change on my plans because I’ve noticed some improving on the Facebook Status Updates. I started to see it become a lot more useful in driving traffic (see image below), building brand and increasing reader engagement.
All I need to do is share my new post on my Facebook page through an automatic plugin called “Publish To Facebook Plugin” that allows me every time I publish a post and/or page to my blog to publish it to my Facebook page.
One of the best way to attract reader attention is to share attractive headlines on your Facebook wall. Especially, if you use question on your post, often you increase your site’s traffic through Facebook share button. Usually, as I write new question, others come into my mind.
However, there are different ways you can use to grab reader attention on facebook and increase visibility to your site. So, I’ve put a list of what’s worked for me:
1. Do Question

If you want to grab reader attention, one of the best things to do is to is simply asking questions about things who could interest them. For instance if you are into online marketing, every day you can simple share a question that asks readers things about this:
- Their own opinion on some aspect of marketing
- To share an experience that they’ve had
- To tell the best tools they have used
- To ask some tips about something.
Some, successful example of question about my topic are:
- What was the better affiliate you’ve used?
- Do you know this case study?
- That’s my latest stumbleupon analytic.
- How to make money online with..
Now, I wanted to compare two of my latest post where I got nice share on Fb and Retweeted. When I launched my post How To Turn Your Blog Into An E-Commerce Site With WordPress Shopping Cart Plugin, I got 91 share on Facebook, while recently I wrote an article about linktrak which has got about 88 RT.

So, by making more comparisons with other my post, I’ve noticed that when we ask some question on Facebook we get more response than Twitter. The reason could be because Facebook allows to those that see the wall to check others responses and that increase interest for the post.
2. Increase Traffic To Facebook Status Updates
When you launch your question or sharing your post on Facebook you can get more visibility by promoting it through other sources. This could be done in two simple ways:
- Using Weekly Newsletter – You could place a link on your weekly email newsletter titled ‘news on facebook’ link.
- Using Twitter – When you start a conversation could be great start to tweet when there’s a good discussion going. It might seem odd to promote one social media account on another but it help increases in interaction.
3. Creating A Strong Landing Page

That isn’t new, you can also create a ‘welcome’ landing tab for those that have never seen your page yet and ‘liked’ it.
All you need to do is create a tab by using the FBML application which will allows you to customize a welcome page for new people that come to your page.
Facebook allow you to set up your page, so, the next time they arrive to your page, then they see the welcome. I do not really know if it works or not, but by reading a few other blog it seem that bring significant increases in connections.
4. Book Promotions
Last but not least, I recently launched my Make Money Online eBook on the3dtechnologies and I think a Facebook fan page can be helpful as pre-launch buzz on the facebook page. I hope to see some really positive response from our promotional efforts on Facebook.
If you have any question feel free to ask
