Once people start blogging, one of first throught comes to their mind is to trying get good rank in search engine. However, who is a newbie get stuck thinking how increase Google page rank.
Well, nothing of more simple. Google page rank is determined by the number of links directing to a webpage.
These days my main blog, the3dtechnologies, no longer has the probems of pagerank. For the first 4 years of my blogging life, my page rank is gone from 4 to 0 PR from 2th to 4th year, and just this month is come back to 4 again.
Build back-links is one of best way to increase page rank to your site. The following are an array of tips, I have developed through trial and error, before I get my page rank 4 back.
Content – If you’ve done a good job of creating quality and unique content, then people will probably link to you. E.g. if you’re looking for content related to money tips, the first website url that probably you type on yours browser is problogger.net.
Lots of websites links to problogger or refer to this site. What does it means? Simple, Probloggers delivers quality and unique content. The Problogger website has a massive amount of loyalty readers and tons of content published on an hourly and daily basis.
Commenting – Instead of working for leaving 10 bad comments, trying to work for leaving 4-5 quality comment, instead. Spammy comments will delete by moderators and you will not be able to leave future comment.
Choose those blogs have a top commentor or recent comments section on the sidebar. This widget will show your link on hundreds, or thousands of posts on the blog and this can rapidly increase your link count literally overnight. Also, check up if blogs have installed CommentLuv WordPress plugin. Many blogger are using this plugin because encourage readers to comment. Once commented it show a link of your last blog post at the end of their comment.
Link Exchange - I have to admit that I do not use this method for gain backlink, but I noticed that it works and is one of common used methods out there.
However, as good as it can get, there are some disavantages of using link exchange. Search engines pay more attention to one way links so if you think that build one page and put down 100 linkback can be the solution for get some result quickly, I do not recommend to follow this way.
Do follow attribute – What does it means? In a nutshell, a blog has a “do follow” attribute, it means that you receive link juice from search engines because they will follow the links off your own site. To discover which site have “nofollow/dofollow” attribute I use this simple firefox extension. This is abselutely my favorite addon.
Buying Links – If you have money to invest buying quality backlink can be the right way to follow. There are many services out there like Buildsellads that allows you to do that.
Guest post – One of the most common methods to gain quality backlinks is writing guest post on website with high pagerank. The best way of this methods is that it is completely free. Usually blogs with high pagerank allows to add a single backlink while other blogs with lower page rank may offer two or more backlinks.
If you want increase your chance to get your guest accepted by bloggers, than I suggest you go after smaller blogs rather than the larger blogs. However my overall recommendation is to write quality of guest post content.
Article Marketing - How many times have you read about the importance of do article marketing. That is surely one of the most effective ways to get one way backlinks. Think it like a free advertisement that lasts for life time. I usually submit my article on three article directory sites, Ezinearticles, Goarticles and articlebase.
Final Consideration
This post explained some of main tricks I use to get back-links to my blogs. They each have their advocates and I can attest that work well. If one of your goals for 2011 is to take control of your backlink this tips can help guide the way.

About this post, honestly…Page Rank is something which fascinates me like anything and yet one truth is that I haven’t really worked for it. I think it is much more than backlinks today yet you cannot ignore those backlinks. To me, I think Google is doing the right thing to make Page rank look more valid and accurate through its recent changes like taking your page load time into consideration and related factors. I think it is a good move anyways.
The point you have shared above are very important and I have been following most of those tips. At present, I am mostly into link baiting and guest posting as I feel it looks more clean and effective. Thanks for sharing all these valuable tips. Keep writing

Hi Nicola,
COngrats to you for getting a high page rank. Its just great to know from you all the tips and tricks that make a successful blog.
I have around 15 articles in ezinearticles which give me good backlinks even though I do not receive high traffic from them. Google likes us to stay with good sites and that is the right way to go.

I would recommend not to get obsessed with pagerank. In differing Google pagerank is just a irrelevant measure. What really matters is actually getting traffic and conversions. I have a PR4 site with just a few backlinks about 30. All sources are good but it does not have any traffic, why? because it needs authority and authority is not given by page rank.
