Most websites I visit have some sort of web banner advertisements within their pages, but have you ever wondered how much are Top Brands spending on display advertising?
According to the ComScore annual report, U.S. Digital Future in Focus for 2012, on the prevailing trends in social media and digital advertising, it seem that the Top brands are going big on Online Display Ads.
Trends for Display Advertising(145 advertisers delivered 1 billion display ad each) growth of 38% for the last quarter of 2011. And more of them are displaying on Facebook and Google.

Google is making always better, and spending more on online display ads. They’ve increased of $700 million in advertising and promotion last year. For the first time, Google delivered almost 40.5 million impressions online.
According to ComScore, the reason for this sudden increase is due to all products, including Google Chrome, Google + Google and other offerings.
Facebook surpass its nearest competitor Yahoo, which is now in a publicly weaker position. The social networks got 1,300 billion impressions in 2011, and covers 1 online ads every 4, according to the comScore report.
The reason of the interest on Facebook by advertisers may not be in its user base of 850 million, but in the ability of the social networks to retain people and attracting people. It represents almost 15% of all time spent online in December.
Google wants to take the slice of the pie of Facebook’s, so recently, Larry Page(Google CEO), said the online display advertising will become $5 billion per year very soon. In September, a Google VP said that probably the online display advertising market will become a $200 billion industry.
If online display ads will continue to grow, from a business standpoint, it means that stay competitive amid all these brands will become tougher.
