What Is Micro-Blogging How To Start Micro-Blogging?

This is a guest post by Jane Smith. If you would like to write for the3dtechnologies, check our guest posting guidelines.

Blogging has emerged as a fast developing field in last many years. The main concept of blogging is to log the information on the internet.

There can be different reasons to run a blog. If you want to share your personal experiences with the world then you can run a blog and post stories on it. Today, I want to tell you in particular what a Micro-Blogging is all about and how to start one.

Blogging

If you are running a business and you want to create awareness about it in the public then you can do it with the help of blogs. So, there are different reasons due to which you can run a blog. There are different types of blogging that are called as Blog, V-log and Micro Blogging as well.

Micro Blogging

Micro blogging is just like blogging but there is a slight difference between both these. A blog can contain any kind of posts. If you want to write a short description about something then you can write it on a blog or if you want to write a long explanation of a matter then you still write it on your blog.

However, if you are intended to provide information in small pieces through your blog then it is called micro blogging. In micro blogging, a blogger doesn’t go into deep details of a matter but he tries to summarize all the matter in small statements.

If you are promoting a product through micro blogging then you will not write a lot about it but instead, you will highlight the key features of that product and post a few pictures. Sometimes, only pictures are posted in micro-blogging that can explain everything about what you want to say. If you also want to start your own micro-blog then there are a few things that you will have to consider.

How To Start A Micro-blog

Getting into the field of micro-blogging is not a big deal but you will have to determine the causes due to which you want to start blogging. Below are a few things that you will have to consider.

Reason

First of all, you will have to keep a reason in your mind due to which you are going to start your own micro-blog. Having a vision and setting your goals is very important to run a successful micro-blog on the internet. You should keep in your mind that there are so many blogs and micro-blogs running on the internet so if you want to get success in micro-b logging then you ought to have a different approach towards it.

Get Tools

Once you have vision in your mind and you are ready to start micro-blogging then you will need tools to start your blog. You will need your own domain name registered under your name and a hosting account. If you will have all these things then you will be ready to start your own micro-blog. You can run your blog on WordPress platform because it makes it easy for you to run a blog even if you don’t have any knowledge about running a website on the internet.

How To Creating A Successful Blog Post, From Idea To Promotion

Many think blogging need hard works, other think blogging need only have a great idea, put down a couple hundred words and share content on social media.

In my view blogging is about being passionate about a particular topic and delve deeply into it. You need to have a great ideas, processes, and strategy. All you need to do is to taking what is in your head and translating it to make sense to the masses.

In order to understand the approach I used to creating a successful blog post, I’ll share the main point that let you know the ste by step process, from idea to promotion:

Step 1: Start With An Idea

Ideas come to my mind all the time, but especially when I’m on Google Reader, making blog comments, reading other web posts, or watching my Facebook Google plus and Twitter list feeds. Once you get an idea make sure it doesn’t get lost somewhere in your mind. Keep track of it. Whenever you get a great idea, then record it through your phone, or take note it through a copybook, or send yourself a quick email to your email box.

My method is to create a spreadsheet that includes:

  • Category – For each categoy f my blog I add an idea. Mine is make money, save money, marketing, blogging, SEO.
  • URL – For some titles, I usually try to fit it to one my own blogs or ones I regularly contribute to.
  • Title – Here I add the new idea that I get.
  • Other info – Additional information that will help me when I get to actually writing the post.

Step 2: Content

Now, the time to take an idea and transform it into a real, live blog post. Sometime I create bullet points, then add the information as necessary. Other times I start by just writing out everything, then organizing it into logical sections after the fact.  I write each article on paper, yes I does, then I copy it on my wordpress dashboard, then I use Google translate to see if my content has highlighted a bunch of misspellings.

Step 3: The SEO

In a recent post on my site, I wrote a post about comparison between DIYthemes Thesis Framework and Catalyst WordPress theme. Once wrote I had to spent ta bit of my time figuring out better titles, meta descriptions, keywords, etc. and then wrote the post, but I chose to write the post instead. I use the Google AdWords Keyword Tool to find the right term to insert on my content and optimize it in order to rank better on first search engine position. The page was now listed on the first page of the search results for search term “thesis vs catalyst”.

Step 4: Pubblishing

Before I actually press the publish (or schedule) button, I usually consider some crucial elements stage yet. To ensure your reader don’t leave your site is good to add internal links throughout your content and at the end of the post in the form of Related Posts (WordPress makes a great plugin for related posts too). Other great reasons to add internal links include getting a link back from sites that steal your content. Also, you probably want to launch your post about a day during the week that will bring you more traffic (e.g Mondays and Tuesdays and not saturday or  you want your post to be seen by your twitter followers, facebook or google friends.

Step 5: Promotion

For averagely awesome posts, my post promotion process includes:

Sharing it on all four networks Twitter Facebook page as my fb profile as well, LinkedIn, and Google+. Of course this process can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. I have found 9 AM and 12 AM is the best time to getting the most like, rt, and + from social.

How To: Make Your Blog Worth Reading

This is a guest post by Crystal J. Briscoe. He blogs at www.selftest Engine.com. If you would like to write for the3dtechnologies, check our guest posting guidelines.

There are several articles being written that encourage readers to write blog posts. This article or blog post writing is a source of income for many and is considered as the passive income and many have earned a lot from this way of writing. But this should also be kept in mind that these articles can sometime be misleading. Sometimes people do not see the thin line between motivating and deceiving.

This is especially with blog writing. They hold a great potential for earning and in fact are a healthy source of income. The topic of this article explains a lot it says that passion isn’t only the driving force that keep you going, there is a need for time as well, that help you continue. This article provides tips to improve article writing and in little time you can be a good article writer.

Relevant Content

Many of us or a few of us must be unaware of strategy to write a good content in less time. Being a blogger you would know how difficult it sometimes seems to bring out an original blog every time. If you were a good creative writer in your high school, it won’t be difficult then to write something different every time. Creating content for the blog is an art.

If you even have a tinge of the idea in your mind you still need the complete concentration to organize our ideas in an interesting and attractive way. And, also to make sure that is valuable content and is giving an insight of your own. You should make sure that you do not write “me too” in your blog. Make your blogs unique and of good quality.

Building a link with your ideas

Not everyone is creative enough to make good links with the ideas provided in the blogs. You learn to do this building with time and experience. So if you are a beginner do not worry you’ll learn to do it soon.

Comment management

Always remember that comments are the part of your blog. So, when you have posted your blog you are surly going to receive the comments, make sure you reply them all, as this way you linked with the commenter and will get to know their point of view. Do not delete nay comments until they are really spam as this may take a good lot of time from your schedule

Monetizing

Obviously we all know that business we are doing is a business due to money. Keep in mind that nothing is going to be perfect if you do not place the right ads on the right places. Don’t worry too much about not getting much of the traffic because with time you’ll get that too as your writing will improve.

There are many aspects of article or blog writing that are not yet discussed, but the most important ones are discussed already. There are a few points regarding design and publicity which many don’t even consider before writing. There fore, for al those out there doing blog writing should begin taking this task seriously.

Six Key Elements To Add To Your Homepage And Engage Website Visitors

I’m getting a lot of compliments about my website design and layout, because the home page is easy to navigate as does look nice as well. I worked a lot to make it as clear as possible, with a unique design that differentiate it from the other sites which occupy the same niche.

Basically, when you’re redesign your home page, you must be aware of few things. Bells and whistles are nice, but I’m one who tends to go with the “less is more” theory. The following are an array of elements I have adds on my main site the3dtechnologies after trial and that I reccomend to add(If you have not already done) when you redesign your site.

Basic Info

First things first…, your website should include the basic information about who you are and what you do. This sections is like a business card for your visitors. It let them know who what your site is all about.   If they are reading your info and know a bit more about your site, they’ll have a better sense of connection and better be able to relate to you on another level. Usually these info are placed on the sidebar(right or left). E.g. my site basic info is:

“The3dtechnologies.com is an encouraging blog, dedicated to helping people growing theirbusiness online, find the killer graphics for their product conversion, as learn to save money, as extreme frugal living as well, so you can earn more and save more. I’m glad to have you here!”

Remember, visitors won’t hunt around your website if they don’t know what your topic is all about.

Once visitors read your post, it clearly that if you don’t want that they leave your site, then you have to consider to add a new section that include related post to the post they are reading. To add related post I can suggest some useful tools and plugins.  linkwithin is the tool I currently using on my site. It allows to displays related posts thumbnails under the post. You can see it in action below each post content. If you prefer a WordPress plugin, then I suggest Related Posts Thumbnails which give you the same results but you do not have the problem to have a ugly link as the first method does.

How Much Content Should Be On A Homepage?

The following video will explain into details how much content should be on a homepage. Below I just reported the full text of the video:

“More or less content on a homepage? There is certainly a difference of opinion here. Well, you can have too much. So I wouldn’t have a homepage that has 20 megabytes. That take a long time to download and users who are on a dial up, or a modem, slow connection, they’ll get hungry at you. But in general, if you have more content on a homepage, there’s more text for Googlebot to find. So rather than just pictures, for example, if you have pictures plus captions, a little bit of textual information can can really go a long way. If you look at my blog, I’ve had anywhere from five to ten post on my main page at any given time. So I tend to veer towards a little more content when possible.”

Main Navigation Above The Fold

You can use links, images(or even flash) for your main navigation. Links to include here usually are, Contact, Guest Post, Top Resources, Services. I’ll suggest you to do not put too much link in order to do not clutte your design.
Elements to include here are your logo (which should link back to your home page), as well as links to the main sections of your site. If you can link to sub-pages here that is great, but in most cases that will over-clutter your design.

Repeat Navigation In The Footer

The duplication of your navigation bar can still be helpful. As for the main navigation, the navigation at the footer can even another great place where to add text links or add additional info. You can make it as easy as possible to your reader to find the content they are looking for on your site. E.g. on my site I added four section on footer, “who is behind the3dtechnologies?”, that let my reader know who is behind the blog, disclaimer, and so on.

Category

This something I just copied by dailyblogtips.  Anyway I do not put all category, just the most important.
