Since I built my two landing page make-money-online.the3dtechnologies.com and quality-natural-supplements.com I made some change on layout and design in order to increasing conversion rate, convert my readers into buyers in the first page and subscribers in the second one. So today I wanted to share few of the lessons I learned to creating a successful landing page.

First at all, there are four basic components to a successful landing page:
- Research, research, research
- Design(Font, images, text)
- Testing(Know your visitors, satisfaction, build trust)
- Modification(Testimonials, navigation, add element)
The hard thing is to balance each, but in general this are the list of 7 design principles for a better, more successful, landing page.
1. Know your visitors – That’s one of main step for successful landing page. Knowing the visitor you are targeting is important to increasing the chance to turn visitors into buyers or subscribers. E.g. If you fail to properly research your audience, then you can create the best design in the world but surely will fail.
2. Your landing page is like a path – Your potential client could come from all places, search engines, social networking(Facebook and Twitter), social bookmarking(Digg, Delicious) as your blog as well. Once on your home page make sure to give them the right direction in the form of step. E.g. on my landing page make-money-online.the3dtechnologies.com I added three main point s visitors need to follow before to reach the button to download my ebook.
3. The images – Graphics and colors affect the successful of your landing page. The common advices I suggest you, but also the basic guideline indicated by marketers is to take inspiration or better use the same graphics and colors adopted in any other successful landing page. So you either save lot of time and are you sure to get better conversion.
4. Do not crowd your page – Make your page simple without those element that can distract people from the real object of your page, consider removing images, section, or text on your landing page. Also I suggest to track as your visitors scroll down the page with the new Google Analytics Features In-Page Analytics.
5. Testimonials – A lot of people underestimate the power of testimonial, and how they could be relevant to accomplish your purpose. In this case selling a produt/service or increase subscribers number. You could also suggest free consultations for new clients.
6. Satisfaction – Make sure your readers have always something that they can not refuse. E.g. give a warranty for products, or trial period to try your product risk-free. So if not satisfied they can get a full refund. In my landing page satisfaction guaranteed because I gave my ebook for free, so I have not to worry if my readers doesn’t be satisfied by the content 100% because will not lose their money.
7. Build trust – It is very hard convince someone give their personal information away, especially if they are credit card information or even a simple name and email. Make sure visitors come to your landing page, can easily read more about your success and how they could reach the same, in this way they are most likely to give you more trust.
