Skype Roadmap features

It was been introduced almost four year ago and now Skype the global Internet communications company announced its 500 million downloads of her famous software.

Skype is a free voip system consumer application that enables users to make free calls online via desktop Internet phones, cordless phones, headsets and WiFi phones. Niklas Zennstrom, kazaa co-founder and co-founder of Skype.

Where the skype software is going? In one interview, Stefan Öberg, Skype’s General Manager and Vice President of Telecom talks to the BBC about the launch of a new skype programs. Öberg says that in the realm of voip, Skype want to have new targets to going to different directions.

Öberg plays a big part in setting the company’s direction and determining its product mix. Skype not want only to make phone calls, it want to enable conversations in different form.

There are so many different use cases for Internet communications in the business market.

The new features that are included in the recent version of Skype enables to download a application that allows you to make video calling in great quality and includes conference calling, instant messaging and other features that allows people to express themselves online.

I can see now skype and others related voip software starting to worry about the Google Talk Beta. Google Talk Beta enables users to make free calls online to external landline.

Google Talk Beta requires a complete download of 1.5 MB. To use Google Talk Beta you need a computer that connects to the internet, a microphone and a speaker or headset

It currently runs on Windows Vista, XP or 2000, while at first glance it seems like AOL Instant Messenger or Skype A Mac and Linux version is currently not planned.

Using Google talk you are connected to the group of users on the Google Talk network. Google Talk users can use the sevices through IM clients that support the open XMPP standard. The service can only make free internet phone calls in the form of voip but doesn’t currently use the SIP standard.

who has just a Gmail account, Google Talk automatically add its contacts onto your new account to make call or IM.You can invite an unlimited number of Gmail users.Users interested can go download a copy now.
