Which Social Media Lead To More Traffic To Your Site?

After the last article about the best days and times to post on your blog, today I want to highlight which Social Media lead to more traffic to your Site.

Shareaholic just recently launched the Referral Traffic Report on the month of January, aimed particularly at social platforms.

These data were derived from more than 200,000 publishers, that reach more than 260 million unique monthly visitors each month.

So, they are certainly important data, which we need to take into account:

The report doesn’t show all referral sources – there are hundreds of thousands – but it does shed some light on where some of the most talked about websites stand.

But let me see what has changed in the month of January:

As you can see from this detailed image, Facebook continues to dominate the internet referral traffic. The site drives more referral traffic than Google, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Plus combined.

It is interesting to note that the referral traffic grew by 0.8% in January and represents only 4.3% of mobile traffic from referrals. More than 1/4 of the entire referral site traffic today comes from Mark Zuckerberg site.

StumbleUpon with a good 5.07%, has become a valuable alternative when it comes to increase traffic from referrals. So as revealed Mashable, StumbleUpon isn’t the first site that lead more referral traffic in the U.S.

Referral Traffic from Google dropped in January, and also adding Youtube and Google plus you get to 5%. YouTube’s referrals grew by.07% in January, while Google + decreased compared to December of 0.22%.

Even Pinterest, the new born, has beaten Youtube in traffic referrals, while MySpace had no sign of growth in this month. Even Reddit, the bookmarking site, is classified as a good source of reference to traffic, beating other similar Websites like Delicious and Digg.

If you’re a webmaster become crucial discover new trends in traffic sources, figure out what’s working and what isn’t, and analyze and measure the effectiveness of your content efforts.

Strength Of Social Media In Promotion Of Business

Social media and networking has indeed become a vital component of our lives – it is useful in connecting with friends, family and catching up with your darling singers, artists, funny videos, movies and a lot more.

On the other hand, the power and influence of social media simply goes beyond these effortless things. A large number of business entities have connected together to come up with some essential tools which is beneficial for them, and most importantly you can easily do it as well.

Following are some of the essential points on how you can utilize the social media portals work for your entity:

Analyze the Market – You can do this by merely browsing through Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and various other social media portals; you will get to see how the market trends concerning your products and services. You need to know what they are like, what makes them enjoy, what grabs their attention, and how you should interact with them, and a lot more.

Determine Which Portal is Best For Your entity – Based on this point, you are required to evaluate which particular social media portal is the best for you. You must spend valuable time on different portals such as Facebook.

You must create your own fanpage on Facebook. Figure out what your consumers prefer, do they prefer to follow up on Twitter trends? If this is so, you should opt for a Twitter account. You can opt for a single account or can prefer opting for several different social media portals.

Build Your Own Community – One of the most imperative points is that your business based social networking account should always be lively and active. You must share or post things that you have found to strike the most importance and awareness in your market. For instance, if you are in the real estate niche, you need to ensure that you are posting appropriate listings at least once day.

As soon as you have been able to create a considerable following, you will be surprised to see the rippling impact of social media as your Facebook fans or Twitter followers would share everything that they are going to find important and noteworthy to their friends, family and it goes on!

Create Objectives – You must set up some objectives for a certain period of time such as getting 500 Twitter followers is around 15 days or 200 Facebook fans in 10 days time. If it works well for you, evaluate how effective and proficient it has been for your entity and see what are the other means through which you can progress.

Make Use of Different Social Media Portals – Even if a single medium is robust and powerful for your entity, you are still required to make use of several other tools online such as Google Adwords, blogging as well as traditional advertising and PR. These are some of the proven methods, which if executed properly will provide you with desired outcomes.

All the above mentioned points may seem complication initially but making use of these strengths and openings of social media is not completely a rocket science.

If the answer is yes, then I am sure you will like this post.

Someone has already done an interesting study on this subject, and discovered the best times to post content on the blog and which are eventually shared on social networks.

Shareaholic has responded to this question.  Its social share widgets extracted data from more than 200,000 sites that have this widget intstalled.

They’ve extracted the top 100 day of 2011 by getting the following 4 graphs(taken by Jason Keath on Social Fresh):

The first thing you’ll notice from the image above is that the day the post get more shares(31% of the total) is on Thursday, followed by Wednesday, Friday and Monday. In practice, the best days are the weekdays, from mid-week onwards.

From the point of view of page views, we can see that the situation is different, starting from the first day of the week: Monday is the first day of the week where you get more hits(43%), followed by Tuesday(28%), Wednesday (24%), and Thursday (5%).

“The early bird catches the worm”, and in fact 27% of the shares takes place between 8:00 and 12:00 (with a peak between 09:00 and 10:00). It is interesting to note another small growth curve during the night.

Finally, the graph of the pageviews: between 07:00 and 13:00 because our focus is the vast majority of traffic, with a peak between 09:00 and 10:00 (just like shares).

How To Make Affiliate Marketing Work For You

Affiliate marketing, while frequently undervalued in deference to search engine optimization, email marketing, and website syndication, is slowly becoming one of the more popular practices these days among a variety of online players.

Affiliate marketing involves overlapping spheres of influence between four principle entities—the merchant (or retailer), the network (which provides the clients and the payments), the publisher (or the affiliate), and the customer.

A number of digital marketing agencies, bloggers, and e-commerce businesses utilize this method in order to drive more traffic to a blog or site, increase the online value of links, and to grow cost-per-click ratios.

The best way for a small business or freelance entrepreneur to approach affiliate marketing is to think of it as a choice between several online strategies.

There are three major forms of affiliate marketing, which are distinct in their own ways:

1) Unattached affiliate marketing is a basic of pay-per-click campaign in which there is no direct bond between you and the end consumer. You simply provide a link and earn a commission based on how many people click on it. This can work for creating an income stream but not for building a business or brand.

2) Related affiliate marketing involves you having some sort of website or online venture that has a connection with a niche market. You may or may not have anything to do with the product being displayed.

3) Involved affiliate marketing involves you actually using a product and incorporating a promotion of it within your content. This last form is significantly different than pay per click campaigns, as you are leveraging your brand in order to promote someone else’s brand.

Whichever form turns out to be the right fit for your enterprise, affiliate marketing is an excellent option for people to consider when launching a new blog or website.

Not only does it allow you to combine networking with revenue generation in increasingly original and customizable ways, but many people earn sizable passive incomes off the Internet just from incorporating affiliate marketing into their game plans.

Websites with affiliate links range from pay per click, comparison shopping directories and coupon sites to niche review websites, email marketing, adbars, file-sharing sites, and virtual currency sites.

If you’re think of delving into affiliate marketing you should begin to reach out to publishers and merchants who are well established in this field, then you can begin to grow into the niche of your choosing.

How To Use Your Voice Via Blogging

One of the most crucial aspects of successful blogging is your voice. Minus your voice, first-time readers will not read past the first paragraph.

The moment you offer your blog readers a potent voice, they’ll keep on subscribing to your blog posts.

However, the million dollar question is, “What is your blogging voice?” Clearly, nobody can practically hear your voice on your blog, nevertheless, your readers can “listen to” you through the expressions you are using and the manner you are utilizing them.

Likelihoods are that your English tutor did not educate you regarding voice while still in the 8th grade; understanding how to utilize your voice when writing is not that simple and it something that not everybody can teach.

Discussed herein, are tips and guidelines on how to use your voice when blogging:

Tip #1 – Getting into the flow

The key to using your voice when writing a blog post is fluency. If you can get your thoughts in writing in less than three minutes, then you will have discovered how to use your voice via blogging.

To do so, you need to eliminate the pressure exerted on quality and start focusing mainly on quantity. In the end, what comes out is not only ordinary, but authentic. To get into your natural flow, you need to practice writing or typing into a computer without editing.

Tip #2 – Your writing should reflect your talking

Once you are through with putting your thoughts in writing encourage your colleague or friend to read your paper and ask them if it sounds like you. If the response is no, you need to discuss the subject in your writing for a couple of minutes with your colleague and write down a couple of the main terms and phrases.

Thereafter, insert these phrases into your writing. To make it easy on yourself, record your idea on a tape and then transcribe word by word. This way, you will have discovered your voice.

Tip #3 – Do not adhere to the rules of English when writing your blog post

One of the reasons why there are rules in English is to ensure clarity. However, unknown to most people is that the rules used in modern day English evolved with time.

As such, if you want to discover your voice when writing a blog post you need to disregard some of these rules. It is the only way through which your will let your voice to precede your writing.

Tip #4 – Write what you understand

Lastly, you need to discover what you love the most and write about it. Chances are that you will write naturally when you enjoy what you are writing about. One of the antics you can use to find your natural voice is to write an essay regarding the person whose face you would like to see on the dollar.

Blogging is never easy. Even more challenging is to get your first-time readers to be your regular readers. As such, it is critical that you know how to use your voice via blogging.
