TripAdvisor Buys Facebook App For $3 Million
We all know Facebook, a social utility that connects people, upload an unlimited number of photos, share links and videos, and learn more about the people they meet. Since the opening up of the Facebook platform, a huge market has developed for widgets designed for the site.
InsideFacebook blog reported That Travel review site TripAdvisor has acquired the Facebook app for around $3 million(£1.5m). InsideFacebook unveil, that TripAdvisor has paid $1.30 for each of the 2.3 million. The app allows to Facebook users to show which countries they have visited through a map of the world inside the profile pages.

Launched only 3 month ago, This isn’t the first Facebook app deal, as photo widget creator Slide bought Favorite Peeps app (Favorite Peeps allows Facebook users to feature their favorite friends or top “peeps”) a few months ago for $60,000 and travel site SideStep acquired the ‘Extended Info’ app (The Extended Info application allows users to add fields and categories of their own choice to a Facebook profile) as well, but the TripAdvisor buy is likely the first multimillion-dollar one.
