Note: Consider that one part of emails already will go in your spam folder.
Uses filters. I created filters for some emails who requires quick action and send it into a “batch” folder, so I don’t have to see them in my inbox.
Using Gmail mail box. I really like Gmail, because it includes one of the better antispam on the net. Compare the Gmail worth, to other mail services like Yahoo. I think the difference’s quite obvious.
Notification. Create a filter to sending to your mail messages related services used like wordpress, Paypal, etc into a folder. It must mark them as read, or get them in the trash. For example, for my WordPress notifications, I can always go and check on them in my WordPress folder if I like, but they never clutter my inbox.
Spam messages. Many of stupid emails comes from my friends or family. Create a filter that will automatically put them in the trash.
Plan a FAQ page. One of the most important things for a website which hopes to give useful informations is to be readily contactable through email address. Happens, such addresses are easily harvested by spam robots, who’s aim simply to trawl the internet looking for poorly concealed email addresses and adding them to the spammers lists. To reduce the number of emails received, create a page where include a set of policies published designed to pre-empt the most common questions you receive.
General notes. Delete, archive, reply quickly, never leave them sitting there, don’t leave the inbox with emails hanging around, do these things quickly. You only must have the essential emails in you inbox. Don’t let it happen. Be vigilant.
