How Do Users Think? Fang-GUI Free EyeTracking Is Here
You can think so. Users habits on the Web aren’t different from customers habits in a store.
Users that visit a website, look what interest them, the text, images, or video clips, and search for some anchors that take their interest or maybe is that they’re looking for.
If the new page doesn’t able to meet expectations of users, it’s sure that they leave the web page for search something of more interesting.
Getting more page views is often the most important goal for web bloggers. If you’re one of them, the challenge you’ll have to overcome is to getting high quality contents. Quality content will inevitably lead to stronger high traffic and earnings.
I think contents is more important than the website design. For example: If users don’t find something of useful for them inside the website, then designer failed and the company loses money.
Online advertising is rapidly evolving, with a number of services stepping up to the challenge. As I mentioned before: +traffic = +money (not always). But until now the approach to recognizing traffic trends has largely been based on software like Google Analytics.
Now, through Eye Tracking studies we can monitoring as your users think and what they are looking at. Basically, eye-tracking technology is a neat way to figure out how your customers want your page to look like.
An video explaining the purpose of eye tracking. The video presentation goes for 2-minute that tells you all.
Fang-GUI EyeTracking System
Feng-GUI is a company formed by artificial vision scientists and interactive designers. Their studies of neuro-science of visual Attention, enable to exploring human vision to find out how people look and what do they find attractive.
What people are looking at? Feng-GUI Heatmap service, creates a Saliency attention heatmap that is based on perception and cognition of humans.
How Does It Work?
The software captures a snapshot image of the requested website and generates a visual attention heatmap. Headmap shows 4 type of colors that from dark blue through green to red, describing the areas of interest that catches attention.
I didn’t realize just how simple it was to use. Once you have included the url of page you want to test, or manually uploaded one screenshot image of your web page, Fang-GUI will be ready to bring your headmap alive.
An interesting Example With Its Website Redesigned.
Test 1 - As we can see from this detailed and scientifically accurate image, the area of more interest seems be the Real News video and the right sidebar, especially the part where there are banners and BlogRush widget.
Also we can see on 250×250 ad format with background “#E8EDF1″ there is a small area highlighted, while the area of the 336×280 ad format with background “#FFFFFF” is not highlighted.

Test 2 - In the image below, I’ve tried to change the background colour of the 336×280 ad format, from “#FFFFFF” to “#E8EDF1″, like the 250×250 ad format. Once launched the software, I’ve noticed how also the 336×280 ad format has been interested and now is highlighted with a blue color.

My Opinion
Strange, seems that whatever(banner, image, video) coloured, attracts more the attention on the users. Beh, it’s doesn’t a new thing.
I would love to hear you thoughts on this especially if you have any possible explanations for what might explain these results with the new Fang-GUI EyeTracking System.
Conclusion
The importance of Eye Tracking studies, can’t be stressed enough, and for those looking to create an online eyetracking heatmap to know what users looking at, it is an absolutely essential part of the process. It allows in little steps to be in control of your site.
In term of ease of use, Fang-GUI allows you with one simple step to create a headmap without install software. Fang-GUI is an idea and service whose time has come. With the increase of number of people that use internet, I think today There is a great need to see how users are looking for, and use their data to guide the redesign of own website.

I think eye-tracking may not completely reveal how humans behave on websites.
