Why Google Like Spam? Some Brief Considerations

Do you know that Google likes spam? It’s really so. It’s a well-known fact that Google does not index the entire Web, but is less known that Google get along with at leat 5% of the the spam that is generated. Of course, the key question is why Google like the remaining 5%.

One thing we all know is that Google is unable to stop all types of spam, while a few kind of spam that Google is able to stopping is does not completely banned from them.

 google spam

Google contains more than 100 algorithms that make it the world’s most popular search engine and would like to maintain its No. 1 position in the industry. Despite this, we can not be one hundred percent certain that the Google results no includes spam sites.

Get attention at this image! What do we see here? Has Google forgotten to ban the spam? The answer is no. These sites are all obviously scraper sites, that Google has decided to let them be in its search results.

Usually, Google doesn’t bans the entire scraper sites. Google just penalize them when they have limited amounts of content on limited pages and get traffic,
in order to allow them to exist in its search results.

The common features of these scraper sites is that the words are all jumbled up-written one after the other in a casual way.

The Question are: Why?

My argument is that, Google would like to maintain its position the No.1 as search engine in the world and instead to show white pages for a few particular search term, Google opt to index website scrape.

We’ve seen that Google allows this scraper site to exit in their index, I’d imagine how many webmasters are thinking to use this method to look for some term that Google doesn’t have indexed, yet.

Is my argument is true, I think scraper site will never go away. What do you think?

Becouse Google Is The Better Search Engine Of The World

I was reading the review titled “Latest Currency and Forex News” where it says that Google is become great becouse has taking diversification on the quality compared to other search engine.

I agree with “Latest Currency and Forex News” review on this affirmation. In my view this was a super-effective strategy for Google success, because users have voted by leaving other search engines behind. Users appreciate quality and credibility. The quality make the difference on any things.

Getting more visitors has been often most important goal search engine. Instead, Google has stepped the own position on an other level, becoming the first world search engine. The Google search engine has two important features that help it produce high precision results. First, it makes use of the link structure of the Web to calculate a quality ranking for each web page. This ranking is called PageRank. Second, Google utilizes link to improve search results.

Google has pointed on the quality of search results by penalizing who don’t respect her policy. Her strategy to punish who committing irregularities have impressed me very much. Just think how recently Google did a great job at discouraging the practice for the purposes of search optimization, although some still sell links.

If you ask me what is the biggest thing that put Google how first search engine on the world, it’s quality. Now Google is one of rich companies that allows to “search by number”. Parcel tracking IDs, patents, and other specialized numbers can be entered into Google’s search box for quick access to information about them.

The Web page translation function, allows you to look at pages written in a foreign language in your own language. As with all online translators, this won’t give you a 100% accurate translatio, however, Google Translate will let you know the meaning.

Google also provides all the facilities needed to publishing your creations to a variety of software:Google Docs and Spreadsheet, allows you to import your existing documents, spreadsheets and presentations, or create new ones from scratch.

Chat software like Gtalk, is downloadable application for Windows offers many features for communicating with your friends and family.

Email software like Gmail. Gmail makes email easy and efficient.

Google offers an useful conversion calculator online that you can see online. You can use different formats for your currencies. Explaining this is much easier using examples. On “Latest Currency and Forex News” review you can find some  examples on how works the Google calculator.

Online Paid Reviews: Google Compete To PayPerPost And Reviewme?. What Do You Think?

I do not really, I’ve time to read many of blog or forum in a day, but here get the summary of what happens on the net. I was reading 76newsalways today, when I saw an article added by an user.

An unconfirmed news from Shoemoney web post titled “Google doing paid reviews via adsense why not” says that Google is testing a paid review service similar to famous PayPerPost and Reviewme, which pays bloggers to write posts about advertisers. Unfortunately there’s not some kind of magic to confirme this.

Shoe begged Google to get answer about this question, but don’t received answer from them, yet.

Brief Summery

Recently, Google has been trying to find ways to penalize PPP and reviewme users and has commenced punishing them by removing completely their page rank value. Murphy claims that it’s part of Google’s attempts to deny competition because PayPerPost is a “very attractive alternative to adsense”

There are many services out there like Blogsvertise, Sponsoredreviews, Linkworth, etc, and the big amounts of money that blogs have made arrivano from these services. What Do You Think?

Google loses a good percentage of advertising from these services, and maybe for this that Google decided to compete with them through the launch of a new paid review via Adsense and use her huge database of publisher. I think may be a great idea! It’s only my throught, we wait a confirmation by them, yet.

However, one question launched by Shoemoney is why Google must take advantage of this form of business, when it’s owns of the most part of advertisers on the net? Isn’t that an interesting question?

Shoe says:

Advertisers - Nobody has no online advertisers then Google AND now they they have taped into the news, magazine and radio network they have access to tap even more advertisers on the shoulder to pay for reviews of their service.

Also, according to Shoe is hard to think that Google are seeking to expand their business, and take control of the Paid Review, when Google has the biggest blog network in the world.Shoe says:

Blogger - Google already owns the biggest blog network in the world and they seem to already have a relationship with wordpress for easy implementation of Google AdSense on wordpress.com (that would make sense anyway).

In what looks like an attempt to fight against the Pay paid reviews services, I think that if Google will launch a paid review service can win the battle of the competition and can be a great way to make additional cash. I fully agree with shoe! Now we just have to wait to see how long shoe get an answer by Google. What do you think? Let me know your comment.

Google Directory Updated: Why Am I Still Being Punished?

As maybe you know, the Google penalization on Problogger has just been returned to PageRank of 6. While some bloggers is waiting for a reconsideration by Google,

I have read countless articles on the topic, including an article of DazzlinDonna’s of SEO Scoop, titled “Matt Cutts, why Am I still being punished? “.

In this post, DazzlinDonna’s has opened an interesting conversation with Google SEO Matt Cutts by expressing in a short but interesting article her delusion for Google’s ongoing penalization of her site.

DazlinDonna says:

I canceled my sponsored review accounts. I switched to a different method of monetization (Scratchback) that serves Google-friendly, nofollowed links. (And btw, Google, that put a huge dent in my revenue, just so you know). Finally, after I cleaned up everything that might possibly make you hate me, I filed a reconsideration request about 5 weeks ago.

And I did all that for…what? Did you give me my PR back? No, you did not.

It hard to know the reason why Google search engine penalized a few sites and others not, and what to do if your website has been penalized by Google via a lowered PageRank. In the comment section, Matt Cutts went to providing direct help to Donna’s and explain the reason why she is been hit so hard.

Matt says:

In general you want to go with the reconsideration request approach rather than invoking me (that’s not scalable :), but since you submitted a request I’m happy to check on the status of the site in the reconsideration queue.

If I could, I’d say exactly how to make to get the pagerank back, sadly, reality is different - so I can only offer you four easy tips of Matt Cutts that they can help you to be reconsidered by Google.

Matt Cutts, Cat Blogger

1) You already know that Google hates text links and that punish when find them inside your blog. Better hide or delete them directly.

2) You better think twice when you search the problem of penalization. Sometimes the mistake is beyond a single page. So, make a complete verification of all your pages. It’s very hard to do and requires many time, but it’s for your own security, folks.

3) How much time you’ve expected? If the answers is “much”, than consider to resubmitting your site for reconsideration request link. But don’t expect an answer by Google.

4) If you make use of Pay Per review services like PayPerPost or Reviewme, then add “no-follow” tag when you insert outgoing links on your site. However, this strategy do not leave you in a secure position because, recently Google team has hit user directly from their PayPerPost user profileConclusion

It is certainly possible for a website to survive without pagerank but what happens if Google remove definitely all these site from own index? I would love to hear your thought on this especially if you have any other possible explanations for explain these horrible results with new Google update. Let’s keep the debate on!

Online Marketing Strategies: Know Who Talks Of Your Blog With Google Alert

What are some of the options you’re using to keep track of discussions? Through incoming links in your Wordpress dashboard or trackbacks.

But, if there one thing that lets things down with this system is that they only show up when there is a link to your blog from other blogs or sites. Not never happens who they show up if someone just mentions your blog’s name and does not link to it. If that is what you want to see, there a way to track those conversations as well, it’s through a simple tool called Google Alerts.

Google Alerts is really cool, and performs a unique function that is well outside the range of capabilities of current systems to keep track of discussion. What’s more, it’s got a fabulous interface for know who talk about you or your blog to help to improve its results

What are Google Alerts?

Google Alerts are email updates of the latest relevant Google results (Web, Blogs, Video, Group, News, Comprehensive.) based on your choice of query or topic. Just a quick refresher on the features:

  • monitoring a developing news story
  • keeping current on a competitor or industry

For example: If you want know a websites who said about the word “the3dtechnologies” or if the word “the3dtechnologies” is linked to your blog or not, than Google Alert do this work for you.

Once you choose for the term you want to check and set the options to be notified “once a day”, “as it happens” and “once a week”, you can also choose to set between News, Blogs, Videos, Groups and the Web. I council you to set it to Comprehensive.

Once made it, Google Alert send this message on your mail box:

“Google Alert Created. Your Google Alert request [ the3technologies.com ] has been created and a verification email has been sent to servicestechnology@tiscali.it.”

Dear AdSense, You Broke My Heart - An Open Letter to AdSense

AdSense have sent publishers using the AdSense referral program who live outside of the US, Canada and Japan an email confirming that the program will be retired as of 31 January (published below). The email came from a ‘noreply’ email address - so publishers have no way of feeding back their response.

Google Experimenting Social Marketing Style Of Voting Similar To Digg

Recently TechCrunch has put up an interesting post about a Google experimenting, that allows that the site popularity are estimated through vote by others users.

This experiment lets you influence your search experience by adding, moving, and removing search results. When you search for the same keywords again, you’ll continue to see those changes. If you later want to revert your changes, you can undo any modifications you’ve made. Note that this is an experimental feature and may be available for only a few weeks.

You can vote your favorites websites, or you can also hide some websites from the Google search results (see image below). At the moment the results of the program are not applied to the general search index but will only be stored per user.

How does to work?

First to use this feature, you must register for a Google account. It doesn’t cost anything to sign up for a Google account, however, I think not everybody will see this feature on their Google dashboard, even after you sign into their Google account. But for those who can use this feature, here is how you use it.

I like it! If you like a particular website you can promote it by clicking on the arrow-up icon beside the result.

I don’t like it! If you don’t like particular result, you can hide when you search for the same keyword(s) in the future. The sites voted up will stay up. To make this press on “x” icon beside the result.

Google Labs says that “this is an experimental feature and may be available for only a few weeks,”. I love the result. Now we just have to wait to see how long this voting system becomes a normal feature inside the Google search engine. It’s a great way for give to users the chance to contribute on the results they want to see. I would love to hear your thoughts on this especially.

What We Need To Know For Not To Be Penalized By Google About TLA And PayPerPost

In its latest Google Dance are been punished all the blogs who used Text LInk Ads or PayPerPost. Many of the reputable sources that have received a penalty, have this factor in common. In some cases are been punished those, who merely have talked on PayPerPost or Text link in their blog posts, but not for this used the program.

Google penalizes by giving lower PageRank values for sites selling links. I seen a lot of bloggers not be happy to have losing Pagerank. In many case has given to blogs “zero” PageRanks value.

Right now it’s just the lowering of Pagerank, bloggers still have some money through selling links, but what will be Google’s next move? Google may penalize sites selling links also in other ways, including full drop from their index, or significantly lowered visibility and ranking inside their search engine results. Some are worried it will result a de-listed in the search result.

De-Listed From Google Index? Can Happen?

I want to make an example. If you go to Google and search for “John Chow“, look at the results! The term “John Chow” has been banned from the Google search result. Now the question are: If Google want to remove text link ads for get search results better, not quite what it are making for, right? How does to make results better if I can not find what I want?

However, if Google deletes all the blogs from its index, I think that we should see an exodus of bloggers out of PayPerPost over the next few months. This will bring PayPerPost not be a business model sustainable in the next future.

Which Decision To Take?

Currently many bloggers are standing at the choose. They are waiting for a small move from Google’s side to make a decision.

Someone think, content is still more important than PageRank. It does not matter if you have zero in your pagerank, because if you provide quality content, readers will still be coming to your blog.

Here my suggestions:

1) If you think that Google traffic is important to you avoid using text links or get paid to write reviews.

2) Not many blogs, have need Google’s PageRank and its search engine traffic, and be independent from it. Not all blogs are JohnChow dot com. 90° percent of the blogs in the blogosphere are dependent to Google, and do not want to be penalized or banned from its index.

3) If you have used text links, or get paid to write reviews, and you have decided to leave them altogether, do submit a “reinclusion request” by using the dedicated form inside the Google Webmaster Tools main page.

4) If you like Google and want its search engine to work better, do not cheat them. Those like you who do honest content writing work have all to gain from this.

5) However if you want to make some significant money by selling text links or paid for review, you have need of a good ranking (least PageRank 5) and a good scores on Technorati and Alexa.

Conclusion

Google started with one purpose, that is to punish those who sell PageRanks. But not all sites are been penalized, for a couple of reasons, both because of time and resources restraints as well as because of the strategy Google used. However, Google’s actions are been a small jolt for many of the blogs.

So far Google, did not give enough information about how to behave and what to do with text link ads or Pay per review. I recommend then to avoid to involved with these programs and you will not be penalized.

Google Goes To Penalizing PayPerPost Users: PageRank VS RealRank

Ever wonder what happened to PayPerPost, the service launched by Ted Murphy, CEO of advertising firm Mindcomet, that promised to many bloggers to make money and for companies to connect with bloggers who are willing to blog about a product - for a price. It is alive and thriving.

Of course one key question that shouldn’t be ignored is if you are really making money with PayPerPost. Yes?

Well. Or not! You must know that once attempted to hit hard Text Link Ads, Google is trying a new target: PayPerPost. I had no way of testing it, but CEO Ted Murphy is disclosing that Google is going after bloggers in the PayPerPost network to reduce their PageRank, from previously value obtained to zero. Consider that one of criteria of valutation to get a pay review it is the Google Pagerank. It’s crazy!

Ted Murphy says:

Last night Google decided to go after some of the bloggers in our network, reducing their PR from whatever they previously had to zero. Once again Google has proved that PR has little to do with blog traffic, influence or relevance and everything to defending their monopolistic stranglehold on search and online advertising.

Murphy also took a shot at TechCrunch, asking why doesn’t Google penalize them in the same way.

Ted Murphy says:

I find it laughable that high profile bloggers like TechCrunch aren’t being penalized in the same way. Perhaps it’s the fact that they use AdSense. Perhaps it’s the fact that they are silicon valley insiders and are invited to special Google events. Either way I don’t see the difference between a sponsored post in our system or this sponsored post. Both are paid for, neither use no-follow.

Google PageRank VS IZEA RealRank

To take a step up to fight against the Google, PayPerPost’s parent company, IZEA, will launch in the next future a similar system to Google PageRank called RealRank (code named Project Goo Gone).

The problem with Google PageRank is that it is both self serving and irrelevant to actual traffic and influence. The arbitrary and unpredictable nature of this ranking system has left both bloggers and advertisers longing for accurate statistical data since long before PayPerPost. Unfortunately, there are few options out there when it comes to determining the value of a blog. While sites like Alexa attempt to estimate traffic they are inaccurate and do a terrible job when it comes to blogs with smaller niche audiences.

Hopefully, that works better than the Blogger Choice Awards. Have your PageRank been affected for being a PayPerPost publisher?

Selling Links: How To Stay Out The Google Control

Yes, the search engines haven’t quite found a way to collaborate with text links ads program. Until it’s so, text links will continue to distort results because text links can work to increase a site’s rankings with the search engines.

Google has hit Text Link Ads publishers because TLA is the biggest program in the link selling. If you’ve know how Google can tell if you’ve been selling Text Link Ads, it’s actually pretty simple. Shoemoney explained it in his Fun Numbers post.

If you making money with a some paid links and you haven’t hit by Google yet and you want to keep it that way, follow these simple steps:

  • remove the link to TLA. However, this could reduce link sales.
  • A way around this would be to hide the link is to add a nofollow and noindex to it.
  • Links in the side bar are often viewed as paid links, especially if they are site wide.
  • Links at the post level are a lot harder to detect.
  • Don’t name your links with “Sponsored Links” “Text Link Ads” “Advertisements” and so on. If you must label the links then do it with an image and not text.
