5 Ways To Ask Bloggers For A Link

This post is all about asking for links. Usually, I receive quite a few emails asking for links but they’re not always from big well known brands, they’re more often  from bloggers. Often, more of these email ends up in my trash folder in my email box but occasionally I not only read the emails but I link to the persons site.

Here are 5 quick tips for those wanting to ask bloggers for a link:

1. Attract with something that worth to link - The better way to get the attention of a blogger is to write something worth linking to. This is no so hard but so many people don’t do it. You can also decide to write something entertaining, intriguing, helpful, controversial, informative.

2. Build a Relationship - Don’t immediately start asking bloggers a link without interacted with them, first. Learn to know them, their blog and let the ‘favors’ emerge out of that.

3. Demonstrate your knowledge to the Blogger - You don’t need to write tons and tons of words that proves your knowledges. To adopting a familiar approach you need to introduce yourself to the blogger, for example, by using the blogger’s name, and show that you know what their blog is about. A quick reminder of who you are and what you do could help.

4. Add Value - It’s unlikely that a blogger link to your page if there’s no something for them or their blog. The page you’re asking for a link should give something of unique that will actually improve their blog. Usually, if someone ask me a link-back or at least tweet the link and if I think it adds value to the lives of my readers or followers, I’ve no problem to do it.

5. Build on the Experience - If you get negative response you can continue to find ways to build relationships with other blogger. If you get silence, don’t take it personally, but learn from and build upon the experience.

What Was Your Worst Job Ever?

In the last two years, finding the job is hard work, and once you’ve found one, often are the worst. I’ve graduated in engineering and I’ve did different jobs in my life, ranging from worst to best, and from hard to easy. Before graduated, after spending weeks looking for job, my jobs are been:

  • 1. Part-time cashier at Nike store.
  • 2. Part-time cashier at McDonald’s.
  • 3. Webmaster for a website.

With the bad economy, student are less likely to leave their current positions because of the difficulty in finding new opportunity of work despite they have the worst jobs ever found. It’s common for new jobs to feel trapped in their job because of credit, student loan bills card debts, etc.

After my degree, my situation has not improved. My first worst jobs was in a Study of Engineer. Despite the fact that I had to do the exact same job and sharing the exact same responibility of others, my employer wanted only pay transport costs.

What I learned from my worst job:

  • Some employer are really bad employer. I don’t want one of those people as my boss.
  • Some employer really pay less your job. Often, a payless job isn’t a worst jobs.
  • Some employer intimidate graduates only because they no have experience. Better to think before you accept any job offer.

However, be able to do any work is already a sign of maturity at any age.

You can’t find the perfect recipe for find the perfect job. Sure, there are many jobs out there that might be very bad, but there are many others that aren’t as bad as you think. Not completely crap!

I am now a full-time blogger, because I spend hours every day pouring over blogs, sites, social networks, etc. My current job is great because is not requires to do something that is in the opposite of what I like to do. I’m always free to decide what is best for me.

Many people stay at their jobs because of fear that there isn’t anywhere else to go. I had the strength to change my worst jobs with something that I like, that gives me satisfaction, and make me feel independent.
